No what's happened is the net has allowed the collective voices of distrust to be heard. This along with the many lies from the medical profession exposed has generated a distrust of everything not proven by the masses.
The supplement industry exposure of the multitude of lies has been a long time coming.
Now the masses don't have to rely on big false ads filled with pro-bodies/faces talking shit/endorsements/making money. We have instant feedback from real people. At the same time pharmacueticals are at our fingertips(which has never been the case before-
I always thought Weider and the gang had the biggest hand in keeping steroids outta the publics hand{knowing the pro's would still be juiced to the gills to sell their products}
I believe there are non pharmacueticals/naturals that work. The problem is(as has always been) ingredients and effectiveness hype all come from the people selling the supplements with NO unbiased GOVERNING body to discredit anything. This discredit has always come from the people AFTER they've spent a shit load of money and word of mouth got out that it was shit.=a lot like counterfeit roids-now we can blast their asses awy with pix & feedback to keep them from selling-oh how things have changed.....
People have been tired of getting fucked. Now they're gun-shy and this causes them to also miss out sometimes.
BUT if something TRUELY is good people will use it and the useless shit will disappear. The paradox is supplement sellers can blast out to more people than ever before....so now they better have something effective or it will be gone almost as quick as it arrived(maybe).
The latest thing so far I have used is universalkits p-gh. So far it is one that I really like(though I won't be able to give true feedback for a month). In my feedback I have the power to influence thousands of would-be buyers almost at the instant I press send.....pretty cool.....think abouth the horse & buggy days pre-net.....
BTW Even though I've spent years of getting fucked I still try supplements but it's only after REAL people on these boards have posted.
These are some good points. And to those who may not be aware of it, I've spent a considerable amount of my career exposes fraudulent supplement companies. Way back when I wrote for Testosterone I did a piece on the history of supplements where I had to use a pen name. I've since updated that report in my books and the irony is, T-Mag has become as big a scammer as any of them. To this day, I still speak out on the negitive side effects of pro-hormones and pro-steroids or whatever they're calling the new shit that doesn't work and kills your dick.
On the other hand, I'm a big believer is EFFECTIVE supplements. The thing is, most of them are for health purposes and most guys don't give a shit about health.
For example, I developed a product called ZIP! which burns fat by increasing thyroid output without affecting the central nervous system. It's a much healthier way and a more effective way. The problem is, it doesn't get you jacked and kill your appitite and that's what a lot of people want -- even if it means slowing down the metabolism which is what all thermogenics will eventually do. Hey, if they worked so well, we'd all be lean. But they don't -- but people don't want slow fat loss, they want to "feel" something. Now I believe this information is helpful, but won't you know it, some people resent it. They want to believe thermogenics work, even if it's temporary -- which it is. So sometimes you can't win with providing information. But I'm not going to lie.
And that's my approach with my supplements. I know what works. I know what doesn't And I'm not going to sell something if it doesn't work. And if it does, and some kid wants to disagree with it with no proof or without ever even trying it , I'll show where he's wrong.
So the net is a double edged sword. It's great to get "real" opinions, not just paid endorsments. But opinions should be based on experience, not just the desire to be negitive. And there's way too much of thatas we all know.
BTW: Protein Factory uses no paid endorsees and over 95% of the people who order, re-order. I think that's a pretty good endorsement that the quality is good.
