Starkraven said:i thought the pecs were split in two. pec major [upper] and pec minor [mid and lower]. i do incline db, flat db, and weighted dips. should i take out inclines? im like slowly converting into pling i guess since heavy weights build strength and the mass i want anyway. i just stick with the basics now, etc.
I was searching for the info on origin and insertion to back up my answer to this, when I came across this q on another board
( http://www.menshealth.co.uk/talk/thread.phtml/thread111615/ ).
This dude answered it so well, I stole his reply...............
a) can you flex your "upper" pec?
b) can you flex your "inner" pec?
c) can you flex your "outer" pec?
d) can you flex your "lower" pec?
Now, the answer to all of these is NO.
Now, answer this.
When you're doing a pressing movement, is part of your pec NOT flexing. The answer is no.
If all this above is true, which it is, why would you be able to isolate any area of the chest.

he posted more about the pec minor, and the "heads" of pec major , but I don't agree with that so I chopped it out
