How to trim calves??

I am a female and I took Winstrol (winny) several years ago and by doing housework, I worked my right calf more than my left one. My calves are wide and one is much wider. I am currently on a healthy food regimen and run every morning for at least 20 min in intervals and 3 days a week work legs (squats, lunges, hamstrings). I am scared to work my calves cause I don't want them to get bigger. How do I achieve slimmer calves?

So, you want to loose muscle in your calves??

My calves have a lot of muscle but, it is just in my genes, this may also be the case for you. If so there isnt much you can do, I love it! I dont really have to work them much for them to grow.

My friend has uneven muscle development and she found out that one leg was a little shorter than the other.

What exercises can I do to shape them? They are not cute. It's my biggest insecurity. I have always had big calves, but not this big. I am about 60 lbs overweight, so I know that has a lot to do with it. I started back at the gym this past week. I do intervals of running on a treadmill every morning for 20-30 min. In the afternoon on Monday, Thurs, and Sat I go to the gym and do lunges, squats. You helped me before with some videos and I have been doing those. I want sexy legs. How much of what should I be doing and what should I be doing?

I have big calves as well, and Blondie's right..it's genetic baby! Just work with what God gave you.
I used to work my calves, but never with heavy weight...now I don't even bother. A combination of lower body training and cardio, they shape themselves.
As far as you're calves not being symmetrical... IMO, don't train them any more or just throw in a couple of non weighted calf raises on a leg day. They will work themselves to the size that they're naturally meant to. I really don't think that there's anything you can do to force them to be smaller.

Thanks! So should I do calve raises on the smaller one to get it bigger? And is running my best bet to trim my lower half? I basically run sprints on the treadmill. 2 min at about 6 and walk 1 min. I think I'm on the right track, this is only week 2. I know its a process, just wish the weight would just fall off.

no, I won't suggest working just the one... either non weighted raises or just non at all and they will eventually work themselves to the way they should be. Keep in mind that one side will always be bigger, stronger, more developed then the other. It's usually your favored/dominated side. I won't worry about it that much.

As far as trimming your lower half, ya running will help. Any cardio will help. I am bottom heavy myself and I find that the only thing that can really control size the best, it just consistent cardio and clean diet.
Remember, you are genetically made a certain way! You can only work with what you've got, can make it something different. This is something I had to come to terms with as well!! lol

I am blessed to have a big butt and be slimmer on top, I just want to get it looking sexy. It's more about how I want to feel about myself when I look in the mirror. I'm just gonna keep on running and working out. Thanks for the help!

For the calves train them to the intensity of the small one. If you can do 10 pounds with the small and 20 pounds with the big then do 10 pounds. That would mean working out each calf individually instead of together as well.

As for toning them down....calves are hugely genetic unfortunately. Yoga and pilated will help to make them look slimmer.

Also once you have worked your calves so they are more balanced to your satisfaction, stop working them out at all.
