Why is that? I have the same body type as Arnolds...so I don't understand why it wouldn't work for me(I trying to get my phsyqe to be very comparable to Arnolds). I also have a day were I do power lifts. It must be the diet. I am getting in only 240 grams of protien a day. I eat like 4000 calories a day though.

So your a 248 lb Austrian with a head as big as a shovel, who takes steroids? I've tried Arnold's routines from his book... super overtraining. Just my 2 cents.

At only 240g pf protein and 4000 cals, not to mention you aren't taking in lots of drugs, you are most likely going to over train. When you are hitting 400-500g of protein and taking in a clean 4000-5000 cals with drugs, then, MAYBE then, you stand less of a chance of over training.

400-500..how the hell am I going to be able to do that? I thought 300 was enough. 400 seems pretty difficult for someone who works full time.

i work 40-50 hours a week, and im still a student in college, and i still MAKE time to go to the gym 4-5 times a week, and i daily eat 500-600 grams of protein a day. thats through about 6 meals throughout the day... sometimes a meal is just a big ol protein shake :) its very easy.. it just depends on how bad you want it

6 meals, don't you mean eight? Your body can only digest 40-50 grams of protien per meal, all the rest probably go to shit.

That is nothing but an internet myth.........there are quite a few variables that come into play, so a generalized statement like that doesn't cut it.

Agreed. There are far too many things coming in to play to determine such an accurate number. Metabolism, activity, the amount of BF and muscle one has. Not to mantion, there aren't any studies that state a real number either.

As with any diet adjustment, especially high protien intake .......if you do not ease into it gradually it will wreak havoc on your digestive tract.
BTW where are all the studies that show high protien intake to be hard on the kidneys

Protien intake most certainly makes the kidneys work, that's their job. I am not so sure that high protien intake makes them work to the point that they are "over worked". Most studies done showing kidney damage are kidneysthat were predisposed to it or have already been Dx with Renal failure or some sort of lowered renal function.

nothing like green tea and cranberry juice to keep the renal sytem happy. btw my shakes are normally 100-125g/shake. protein.

the only side effect i have noticed from high protein is increased strength. =0)

sarcasm man "sarcasm"

my chest i my best part. i did incline db and flat db for years, always increasing strength on it, i have added in weighted dips and they are great! those 3 exercises are all i need. i will switch up sometimes with the smith for incline but the rest stays. if you increase your strength, you'll get bigger. i was doing that on a cutting cycle and the gear made me stronger so i got a bigger chest with it too. now if i can only get all my other parts to grow as well and lose 5% of body fat, ill be happy.

i have big tits...i stay away from most pressing movements other than 3 sets of incline db presses

pull ups for some reason are hard as hell...

think of it like this:

How much weight are you pulling on lat pulldowns (wide grip)? think of it like trying to get to bodyweight....i weigh 226, and usually do working sets with 180+, funny that i can do a set of 12 chins first, then only like 4-5 from then on...this is pulling roughly 225 in the same fashion, correct me if im wrong

get them pulldowns up, and pullups with go with it IMO
