I been taking glutamine for years. And i still get sick and I don't think it helps "maintain" what i have. So im starting to come to the conclusion that its a fcukking waste of money and considering to stop taking it. Any thoughts???

I get good pumps from it and it seems to speed recovery. It is midway down my list of preferred supps. Is that all you are taking?

My advice is check your other supplement for glutamine intake.... if you are drinkign a really good microfiltered protein you are probably getting already your glut intake for the day!

Why spend more money on extra glut when you are already getting it...

Yes taking too much just gets wasted... i prefer healthy diet foods with high protein instead of supplemented fakes.

go for better food intake and you body with recover better.

I know brutha, this is an arguement that's been debated for years.. I believe it does work to a point but lots of variables in involved.. First, its just not one of those "supp's" that you will definetly feel and/or see working, like gear or even a stim or NO booster. Second, as stated above, if you already consume alot of good food sources and shakes that already contain alot of glutamine, you really don't need to supplement with it. Third, timing can be big part of it. I've read numerous articles that stated the best time to take Glutamine is at bed time. Its widely believed that Glutamine will help illicit a greater release of natural GH. If you do take it twice daily, you would run it post workout and then at bedtime.
I've found it works best for me when cutting and doing lots of intense strength & conditioning along w/training. On a sparse cutting diet you might not be getting enough glutamine so I use the pure powder and I use around 5-10gms post workout and usually 10gms at bedtime. I do feel like I get better recovery when doing that.

A few years ago I started talking glutamine while I was dieting for a boxing match. I figured I would try to boost my immune system that my harsh dieting was taking away. I ended up getting sick 2 times in a month. I came to the conlusion that glutamine did nothing for me.

Supplements are made to supplement a diet that already has the right amount of protien, carbs, fats.
Nothing beats macro nutrients.

I've recently read an article in "THE ANABOLIC ALMANAC" it said some people can react bad to glutamine at certain doses. I've used it since the 90's and I think it does help w/recovery. I have friends that like it too and mix it with BCAA'S. SCI-VATION makes a good product called EXTEND.

Some people love it and others think it's crap. If you don't find it works for you don't waste your money.

Many people have a hard time wrapping their head around the fact that somethings will work for others and some won't.....that includes supplements. Even macronutrients.
