Hey ya'll I am new here and actaully hope to start to spending more time here. I need some advice though. I am a trainer, actaully went and got a degree in strength and conditioning and athletic training, crazy me! What i didn't realize is that i have issues practicing what I preach. I want so bad to drop weight and get motivated but I jsut can't seem to stick with it. I have a boyfriend who could care less about eating right or working out (that is really hard and if we don't make it, that will be the ONLY reason!) Due to finance I had to move back home with my parents but that wasn't all too good either. My dad has heart problems but still eats what he wants and drinks too much and my mom is the poster child of unfit/unhealthy. I won't even get into my brohters unhealthy lifestyles. (how did i manage to come from this family) . So getting help and support isn't that easy. What can I do and who can I go to to get the support I need to stick with it and just do it? Diet and exercise are hard for me. I at least work at a fitness facility so I have good intentions of working out. THe diet is the worst part though. I am 5'4" and about 170. I am a size 10-12 depending on what it is (closer to a 12). I would love to be down to about 140-145 and a size 6-7. I know that it will take time and hard work. I just need that fire lite under my ass. Any advice???

sweetie i feel for ya because i have been there and i think we all have been at one point in our life. The problem is, nothing that i or anyone in this forum says is gonna change things for you. You have to be ready and truely want it. I know this isn'' the answer you want but it is true. It i s the same with a smoker or alcoholic or anyone that wants to do anything. It has to come from within. if you truely want it, then you can over come all the obsticles that interfere. that is what we are all here for. if you need to vent or ask questions or jsut want some advice, feel free to ask. till then good luck to ya

Well, first off, welcome to the board hun!
In terms of where you can go to for support and motivation, you're already here!:D
Steroidology rocks!!!
What kind of help do you need hun? What does your diet look like now and what does your training routine look like?

although i do train others, i can never get a plan for me that i stick to. i guess the doing it is the hardest part. i have 1000 things i want to do and no time to do any of htem, so it seems that diet and exercise come last. priorites i know but shit is it easier to preach and not practice!!! My diet is not even regualr enoguh now to talk aobut but my work outs are (or at least try to be) mon-fri 20 min cardio (get board easy) and then upper body or lower body work out. 2 exercises for back, chest, abs and thighs, but calves, tris, bis, lower back get 1 exercise.
i just feel wierd on this site with all these experienced people who put my knowlege to shame. I feel like i don't know anything and i don't belong here with all of you. but at the same time, i know it is the best thing for me.

ps thanks pokkey for the up lifting root of encouragement... (for all you out there: she and i know each other from school and she hooked me about this site) i know it needs to come from within but thats the problem, wanting it but not enoguh. i need to find a way to truely want it. why can't you workout with me at school anymore and be my motivation!?!?! had to go and get a job eh!

Well hun, I'm a trainer as well and I know it can be hard to fit everything into your schedule. You do however have to make time for you. We are all here to help you and keep you motivated. As for feeling wierd on this site, please don't feel that way. We all use our experience to help each other in any way that we can. And hey, you know if you learn new stuff along the way, that's awesome!
:)

hey there - I am also new here! I am 5'2" and now about 150 lbs - about 2 1/2 months ago i was about 170Lbs...My goal is to be about 125-130...I had tried diet and going to the gym before - but it was hard to stick to. Finally i reached the end of my rope and was just sick of not feeling healthy or fit. I used to get really bored with cardio, but the key is switching it up - even if you do 5 minutes on 5 different machines...that may keep you from getting bored and it is better for burning fat because your body does not get used to it. You need to think of diet and exercise as a way of life - just make it what you do...and there is no other way! - I used to hate the gym - now i cant get thru the day without my hour of cardio!!! I actually get excited to go to the gym...something i never thought would happen! My body just craves the exercise i guess...I work a lot so i end up starting my workout at about 10-10:30pm and get done about 2 hours later... I just NEEDED to make time for it and i dont allow myself any other option...so i guess i kicked myself in the ass....it had to be done!!! DONT GIVE UP!!!!! baby steps...seriously...)

Thanx Barbie! I'm just someone who came from the same situation! I'd do a lot to help anyone out with a problem!! Hey - since you are probably experienced and all since you compete...what do you do for an ab workout?? :p

Silly Girl, about feeling weird on this site, give yourself a break - it's normal just because it's new..

Don't be too rigid with your program. Make easy goals to reach at first so that you will feel good about yourself. If you make unrealistic goals (like trying to diet like the hardcore women on this site lOL) then you might fail - LIke I DO!! haha...
It takes lots of committment and hard work, but once you make that decision to committ, you start to love it and need it!!

Good Luck, you can do it and stick around, I'm sure you have tons of knowledge for all of us!!!
;)
