I think I have a case of forearm tendonitis

I posted this in the anabolic recovery medicine too, didn't know if I'd get answers there though.

So, every time I work my arms my left forearm gets shooting pain from the elbow to the hand. This has been going on for over a year, but the pain keeps getting worse.

I believe I had a slight muscle tear or tendon tear because I heard a pop and had a burning pain about a year ago.

Today, I tired to train my arms, but was unsuccessful, the pain was to great. I had a tingly left had when I stopped.

I don't have any pain or anything when I'm sitting or even using my left arm. I only have pain when I'm lifting heavy.

I'm going to stop training my arms for awhile.

I'm really hoping that I don't need surgery, since I won't be able to do anything about it until next fall.

Any info will be great.

Thanks.

i'd go see a chiro and have him check it out. A.R.T. might help. barring that, hit up an md.

my roommate has a similar issue, chiro has really helped him. deep tissue massage might help too.

I get that too. It only goes away if I stop lifting for a long period which is not an option. It hurts like a bitch sometimes, but I can usual work through the pain. I have not found a solution. Docs just tell you to lift only light weights and look like a little girl. Neither A.R.T or Graston seemed to do anything for it either. I get the same problem with my shins when I run alot. It is worse on cycle then when off. Best of luck,

Forearm wraps? but you may need to re wrap them every time you get a good pump.

Yeah, I've been using one, hasn't helped much.

I've only have about 6 weeks left of my cycle and 6 weeks left before I won't be able to do much training, since my summer gig is 80 hour weeks for 6 months.

I think I'll just bypass arms and legs and just double up on chest and back. My arms and legs are more developed then my chest and back anyway.

I've had the same problem for years.
Got mine doing heavy bent rows.
It's good ol tendonitis.
Inner forearm elbow down, hurts like hell and sooooo Frustrating.
I know u don't wanna hear it, most likely the only fix.
REST.
I know it sucks I've had multiple injuries where I was out up to 6 months!! Seriously.
Torture I tell ya what.
Yep, any aggravation to that area at this point would most likely be totally counterproductive.
Hate to say it bro. Ure fucked, and not in a good way.
I'm sure you know there's alot of movements that will aggravate that area so be careful.

That's ok everything will be fine.I think better than a surgery I think you should take some ayurvedic treatment.

If you heard a pop it was probably the tendon. Once tendons over stretch they are over stretched, not like muscles that are elastic and will heal and go back, tendons have very little blood flow to them meaning you can "try" to take a bunch of time off and see if it can heal itself, but most likely if you want it completely gone you will need surgery.

In all honestly surgery may not be that bad, I know you will be out of the gym for a while but taking 6months-1yr off from heavy weights..or being in pain and forced to not train arms wouldnt work for me.

Good luck, hope that helps.

i've had the same problem noe going on 5 months.it started on my left side, healed then went to the right.now it just pops up at will.i bought a pair of elbow wraps that i wear on whichever elbow is bothering me that day.first i rub on some icy hot then put it on.now my warm-ups are longer than usual.even on leg day i gotta warm up my arms a bit by doing some light kickbacks or pushdowns otherwise the pain gts to be too much for me.i feel it the most when doing alternating d.b. curls.gonna try some osteoflex pretty soon or glucosamine.somethings gotta work.

Im going through a similar pain right now.Its in my right forearm from elbow to wrist.

Like MOSH said tendinitis.I got mine from pitching/hand ball and it started to acted up again after bent over bb rows.It always goes away with a little rest.

but it could be something worse considering the pop you heard...see a sport injury specialist.
