Im buying a new Springfield XDM .45 Automatic. Anyone own one?

i have a xd 9mil its great gun never had problems with it only jammed on me once but that was my fought, the xdm is nice too but ive only shot the .40cal once so i cant really say to much about it. keep em clean and theres no problems.

I've heard good things, almost bought one but went with a glock .40 . 9mm seems to be easier to find ammo for at times tho

Springfield 45 cal. 1911 custom loaded 4.5 lb trigger.

I shoot mine in IDPA competition.

Reliable. Fits well in my hand, narrow grip, nice balance, mildly front heavy. Never had a stove pipe or malfunction.
I like a heavier gun. Rides nice on your side, easy to draw and get a bead on target. Lighter guns drift around a bit on target. A heavier gun sits in your hand like a clydesdale- solid
Can't beat the hittin power of a 45.

Nice gun! Me likey:jump:

Oh no. You can't beat a .45.

One thing I like about the XDM is that they can carry 13 rounds, not including one in the chamber. :) .

My dad has a 1911 .45 auto. I love it. That's why it is so hard for me to make the move to go ahead and buy this springfield xdm, even though it is a beauty.

What do you think of the rock island 1911's? I found one that is SUPER cheap. 329 bucks, but it is in great condition.

I love the XD45, just had to sell it though to help pay for school.

It was my favorite, perfect condition, high capacity clips, I miss it already.

I'm not sure, was just looking it up, and yes it does suck. The 10guage and Mosin Nagant I still have are not very well suited for home defense.
Might as well just use a :chainsaw:

I haven't fired that weapon yet?

Glocks were to wide for my hand.
It didnt have a good weld.
Once I fired my Springer I fell in love with it. It was a match. Its all about how it feels in your hand. You will know right away if its a fit.

I haven't fired the glock .45 yet, but the XDM was a bit wide also, but I think the guy was using the largest back strap the gun came with, so that may have been it.

whats the gun for?

i have a SA 1911 EMP as my ccw. the thing is tiny but is HEAVY. Im thinking about gettng a glock 19 since the are alot lighter. the EMP is heavier than my sig 226.

id def want a 1911 if i were to get a .45. prob a SA loaded 1911. if your going to use it as a ccw id go with the XDM or glock since they are lighter and more reliable.
