I'm not telling my doc

After reading many forum posts, and the experiences of so many people who have been through this before me, I think I'm not even going to pursue this with my Dr. at all any more. Here is why:

1. The therapy I'll get from him is likely to just be gel or a patch with nothing for sides (like Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) or Arimidex).
2. Insurance won't cover test shots, which is what I really want. Even if my insurance did cover it, I would have to have the shot administered by my Dr. Not really feasible every 5 days.
3. I'll forever be officially diagnosed, on the record, with hypogonadism. Not good if I ever want to change insurance carriers or get more life insurance.
4. He doesn't know much about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) anyways, and I can just come here (to this forum) with my blood work and figure most things out without him.

Anyone else feel the same way? Am I missing something or being short-sighted?

you're pretty dead on. Unless you know of a doc in your area that has a good reputation for this type of thing you're better off not wasting your time and money.

So what's you're plan? are you gonna go with Maximus? self medicate from online sources?

Excuse me mylesmg, just wondering.
If you tell your doctor that you were using gear, insurance wont cover test shots? is that correct? im not trying to hijack.. i just didn't know this.

I DONT EVEN REALLY THINK IT COMES DOWN TO "LYING" TO YOUR DOCS, ANYMORE, IT'S MORE A MATTER OF SAVING YOURSELF THE HASSLE OF BEING MISINFORMED BY SOME ARROGANT EGO MANIACAL JACK-OFF THAT JUST WANTS TO HEAR HIMSELF TALK. :wallbash:

Here s few facts....

Test shots prescribed are covered by insurance..or at least mine. And standard testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is 200-300 every other week...by my doc. Who has the patience for that ?

Also...I told my doc that I m going legit but outside his jurisdiction if you will..w Maximus.

However..I tell doc I m on 1 cc 200 cyp a week...with Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and and an ai...why?

Cuz he s my --cking DOCTOR..and cool enough to keep it off my file but also caring enough to know that I m a wreck with or without test...but less of one on it.

And in the event I go into a heart attack or something like that he ll have the whole picture.

You need a doc that has enough understanding to watch over your ass even if he wont write you...they are out there...

I blame the trial lawyers for doc s running scared..they are wrecking the fkn country..and we got one running the country...they keep doc s living in fear for some some dumb liability or worse a class action scam.

I'm going with Chip on this one. I spoke with him on the phone and he was no-nonsense about it. He wasn't a TRT apologist (didn't try to justify it) which was nice because I already know I need treatment (my total test is 250). His prices are reasonable and I am glad he's making a profit because I know he'll take good care of me.

Mostly, he's an expert. He's lived it, and he has dealt with people just like me. I'm not my own guinea pig.

So yeah, expect a Team Maximus avatar to pop up on my posts pretty soon.

I need to do this too. I have to switch docs though, because my doctor will just shame me every time I try to talk to him about it. I'm not ok with that. I guess I'll just start the hunt today.

For me it's a doctor who doesn't know about the subject and just IS NOT INTERESTED. When I try to talk to him about it he just looks at me like I'm an idiot and asks "Why?"

Because I have the testosterone of a sick 90 year old, that's why you fucking prick.

yeah like he might as well be asking "why not live like the rest of us weak-fat-limpdick fucks?"

My eye doc is more cut than I am...hgh.

My gp is in the gym and looks great..a natural.

My knee doc is an ex linebacker for Ole Miss..looks awesome.

My pain doc is an opiate dealing gook I go to cuz it too fkn e z.

You got to hunt to get what you want..go in with the right compaints and start a paper trail...cake.

This is the most important reason to keep your physician informed regarding your treatment.

You know, I'd go so far to say I know more about certain aspects of HPTA in the context of HRT than my Urologist.

He has told me so in some regards.

But, I don't know much about the other six systems that comprise the body or their complex interrelationships.

HRT is a long term proposition. For the reason that Teutonic stated, I'd strongly suggest working with a capable physician.

I know sometimes physicians can be difficult - both my Dad (RIP) and brother were/are in pediatrics. Neither one of them had/has any clue about HRT.

The important thing to do is find someone who can support your needs.

Thanks for the good advice. I'm just going to have to make some calls to find a good doctor that will keep track of things with me and be supportive.

Thanks for the great advice. I'm meeting with a PCP that specializes in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). I really hope he's what I'm looking for. Wish me luck.
