Insurance Coverage of Arimidex and Dose?

For any of you taking Arimidex related to your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in the United States, does your health insurance cover it? I am going to be starting it due to high Estradiol levels caused by my TRT. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield for insurance. I have heard that they may not cover it due to off-label usage.

Also, what dose are you taking and at what frequency?

Well, strangely enough, when I first started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) with a primary care physician that partially specialized in testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), he said that my insurance (BCBS) wouldn't pay for Testosterone and HCG, but that they would cover Anastrozole, and indeed my first bottle of Anastrozole was covered. I later left that doctor because he was unwilling to vary from a set protocol so there was never another bottle of anastrozole, but that's another story. I've heard others' say that their BCBS DID cover testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) fully (including an AI). I don't know if there are different BCBS plans from different companies, or what. So, long story short: it might cover your Arimidex.

I suspect that Insurance Company rules change as frequently as airline airfares....ie, every two or three seconds.

Mine recently stopped Said they would cover test or arimidex...guess they think they do the same. Thing

I got a 30 day supply of Arimidex (1mg pills) for about $15. Not sure how much of the cost my insurance picked up and/or reduced the cost on. But $15 for 30 pills doesn't seem too bad. I have to figure out what the right dosage is for me; but regardless it should last me quite a while.

BCBS should cover all needed. I shopped around the various online Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) clinics and found i couldnt afford their ridiculous $600-$1000 every 7-10 week costs so i found a good doc. I have just started with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) as of last week and my bottle of watson test cyp costed me $15. He is pushing me to start HCG as well which i havent been interested in yet as im a bit worried of the estrogen buildup which i hear is very possible and the arimidex he wrote me a prescription for as well. I havent filled the adex yet as he wants to test estrogen in 3 more weeks just to se where its at. I guess bottom line is according to him BCBS will cover costs if you are diagnosed with low T. It works out so much better for me to have found a decent knowledgable doc as i could not afford the crazy Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) clinic prices so if youre like me get the scripts and your insurance should cover most of cost.

Thats a pretty fair price i do believe.
