I'm gonna get me one of these Inzer lever lifting belts, but since I ain't a pro at this, I'd appreciate if one of you specialists can help me out.

If it helps any, here's some info: I lift for fun and don't juice. That being said, my lifts are getting bigger. I don't really powerlift (do NONE of the specialist rack board exercises) but do hit ALL of the core lifts and compound movements (squats, DL, bench, BO rows, etc)
Actually, that's all I do since I don't do any of the bodybuilding shoulder rear delt front delt pansy ass exercises either.
So, I guess I'm somewhere in the middle.......powerbuilding anybody ? :p

Oh, I'm 6' 2", 245, and gonna be using the belt only on the last set of squats, BO rows, etc.

Now onto the questions:

1) what's the difference between the kind of support provided by the 13mm as opposed to the 10mm lever belt ?

http://www.inzernet.com/detail_belt.asp?PRODUCT_ID=FOREVERBELT_LEVER13

2) what's the difference between the kind of support provided by the above belts as opposed to the "bodybuilding" belt ?
http://www.inzernet.com/detail_belt.asp?PRODUCT_ID=FOREVER_BB_LEVER_TAPER

3) I've a 37" waist ........ but I've got pants that are 34" that fit me just fine .............know what I mean ? How reliable are Inzer's measurements ...... should I just pass on my tape size or pant size or what ?

4) These belts are kinda steep....... are they worth the price ? I've heard that they are, but just wanna get the OK before shelling out $100 CAD :(

Thanks for your help bros.

worth the investment, doesn't even compare to a belt you would buy in the mall. I have the 13mm, so i cannot comment on the 10, but the 13 was recommended to me. I used the measurements on the site and mine fits fine. You will be adjusting the setting for yourself when you screw the actual lever into the belt.

if your measurements are pretty close the belt they send you will have plenty of adjustment holes to make it fit you even if you gain or lose a pretty good bit of weight . as for 10 or 13 mm the 13 isnt that much more money and it should last you 15-20 years of hard training , the lever should last damn near for life but eventually the holes in the belt will wallow out . go with the 13 mm and you will be glad you did :)

I have a 39" gut and wear 36s that are loose, I know exactly what you mean :D

I'm guessing the 13mm is 30% stiffer, but have to wait for someone to chime in on that one for sure.

I'm thinking you're right on that Mudge. Belt thickness would relate to how much support the belt could give, tensile strength (not that that would ever be a problem with either of these), etc.

dude, the difference is US$12 .....I'm in grad school and Canadian. Two for two ! :p

dawg, how does the 13mm compare with the bodybuilding belt (see link in original post) that's tapered at the front ?

thanks bro.

so you just gave them your tape measure then and it all worked out ?
how much clearance can I expect ? they kinda have a small margin of error of 4 " ......... XL is 39-42

thanks bro.

then i bought a large because my waist is 38 and i still have about 4 or 5 more holes to make it smaller.

just get it. its the best belt out there. easy on easy off. it will last you a life time more than likely. i like the fact that you using it for heavy squats and BO rows. dont use it for deads.

Guess I'll just order one and take it from there. thanks for the input guys.

you will love it once you get it adjusted right and it will get better when its broken in a little to fit your body .

got another question for you folks ........ say I start using the belt at 315 and use it then on for heavier poundages.

6 months later i can do 495 for a couple reps (with the belt of course) ? NOW, how can i wean myself off the belt at 315 ?
what's the optimal way to do this weaning ?

how do YOU do it ?

thanks bros

why wean yourself off the belt ? its there to protect you . go without the belt or better yet without latching it down during your warmups but when you get to your heaviest squats, deads, rows latch it down for your protection .

thats what I got planned ..... "start at 315" ain't gonna use the belt for warmups.

why wean off the belt - cause I wanna get stronger dude. I'll be using the belt at 315 at this point, but I sure as hell don't wanna be using it for 315 two yrs down the road (course I'll be using it for my last set which will be hopefully much greater than 315) . Hope you see what I'm getting at.
:p
