I tore/strained my hamstring and I was wondering if it would prolong recovery if I did squats. The sports med doc said 6-8 weeks for recovery. What can I do? My legs can't afford a break!

I want you to repeat the question to your self that you asked the board.

You have a torn hammy and you want someone to tell you its ok to do squats...?
C'mmon bro really....NO i would not risk the injury,If it were a strain I would still not work that or any othere MG in the lower area.

Welcome !
I would say listen to your doctor, I know you must want to continue your training, but if you risk another injury, you're going to set your self back even further.

Work on your upper body & let your injury heal.

Hope you fell better soon.

@drew I appreciate the message and delivery. I just needed to hear that from someone that knows his shit. Not to sound like an idiot, but what about calves, can I do those?

@ Mrs Pinga, thanks, your message softened drews blow, I kind of needed that too. Lol

@ massive sorry, I am actually serious. If you looked at my pics on the my cycle thread, from average to awesome, you would understand. My legs are freaking tiny!!

bro just keep the diet tight and hit the upper but rest the lower body,it would be way more of a set back if you really amplified this injury.
Just take some time off and make sure you give enough time dont start trining to soon and re-aggravate the injury.
Good luck bro
