Ive read here and on some other forums that night time slow releasing protein is essentially whye mixed in with either powdered milk or milk, eggs or egg beaters and the casein in the milk and whatever protein in the egg slows the digestion of the protein. Is this so? I find it hard to eat before going to bed and this would make thigns alot easier.

Micellar Casein and Calcium Caseinate are the two most often used by people for their last meal. They are available at True Protein.

try this 16 oz fat free milk with 1 cup low fat cottage cheese and 2-4 hard boiled egg whites...thats 36-42g protien , 5 g fat, 34g carbs...cant beat that for slow protien absorbtion.

word, check the sig

Micellar Casein is my choice, but you can slow down the digestion time of any protein by adding fat to it (olive oil, fish oil, natty peanut butter). How it would compare to casein is beyond me though. 1 or 2% Cottage cheese is also a good choice pre-bedtime.

surprisingly i dodnt post my shake...thought about it though...lol

low sodium cott cheese
cheaper than pro pwders

the TP milk pro powder was like glue needed a shit load of water just to dilute one scoop not very practical for someone looking to get 50+g of pro before bed

whats some home made shakes you guys use? Protein Powder is getting to expensive
the link in my sig has whey concentrate for like $4-something a pound. Price drops if you order over 10 pounds. Use the discount code and get 5% off every order

TrueProtein's Night time-Middle of the night Formula

50% Whey Protein Isolate Ion-Exchange
40% Calcium Caseinate
10% Micellar Casein

Taste: 8 out of 10
Mixability: 9 out of 10
Texture: 7 out of 10

PRICE: 7.93 per lb

I would substitute Cold_filtration into the mix instead of the Ion-Exchange. It will save you some extra money.

If you guys are interested in custom mixes, Email trueprotein before buying it. All protein powder have their unique characteristics (ie, slower absorption, amount of carbs, amount of fat, etc), but with that also comes taste. From what I hear, you don't want to go any high than 50% caesin or else it wil taste pretty bad.

how would that taste like shit???
its 1c up cottage cheese (eat it from a bowl with a spoon)
16 oz ff milk (you drink it from a glass)
2-4 hard boiled egg whites (tastes better when you remove shell, and throw out/save egg yolk. eat egg whites)
its not a shake. its a meal.

homemade shakes?

Dude, go buy healthy n fit. They have egg protien and a pro amino whey protien , both under 30 bucks. A lot of idiots spend all sorts of money on they shitty protiens like muscle milk and gnc brand, when that stuff is filled with crap, complete garbage. I agree on the cottage cheese, definatly good before bed time if you want something slow absorbing, try that and a serving of 100 percent egg protien. Egg protien is the best for muscle growth and it is slow absorbing.

That doesnt look bad at all. Ive been using a serving of peanut butter with a serving of ultimate muscle protein before bed and thats seems to working pretty good. Other than that its just a steak for my last meal.
