Is this true about eating carbs in the morning??

GH levels peak at around 9:00 A.M., and carbs, especially fast digesting carbs, kill GH levels.

This is what I found while "surfing the ol' W.W.W"... I dont think its true at all cause usually when you wake its your cortisol levels that rise and your GH "spurt" is long gone..... Although I do understand that eating will increase your insulin and in turn decrease your GH. But in the morning if you eat carbs this will help drive down cortisol.
And why does your GH peak at 9a.m. anyway?? Why not 8:39 or 9:02 ? Ha!

GH peaks during REM sleep, not in the morning. And giving a specific time for the peak is pretty ridiculous - it would depend on the persons circadian clock/sleeping patterns.

The normal cortisol pulse in the morning is actually beneficial, it's driving cortisol above the normal peaks that inhibits fat loss.

Carbs will depress GH output yes.. but I'm not entirely convinced it matters. The main debate is usually over carbs at bed time (before the real GH release) but I wouldn't stress over it. If your really concerned consume 1-2g of Glutamine before bed. This will increase GH release overnight.
