Is using alchool to clean before injection really necessary?

I have been wondering if it is really necessary wipe the injection site before and after injection?

Since im very paranoid i always shower before injecting and wipe 2 times before and after with 70% alchool but well i have been thinking if this is really a need?

This classmate of mine who i met this year has cycled before and he just started again last week but he cant pin himself cuz needle fear so i have been pinning him and he always brings the steroids and serynge n shit but never alchool..

He doesnt even shower before class (only the night before he told me) then he just gives me the serynge and asks me to pin it dry without wiping the injection site with alchool and after the pin he basically just takes some dry toilet paper to wipe the drops of blood that come out and hes done lol

Is this safe? he said he has never had any problems with this aside from the fact that he has many pinning scars on his legs like little red dots where the needle went in from last year..

I dont have those skin scars from needles and i have pinned myself a lot more than he has.. could it be that since hes not wiping the area before and after his body has more trouble with healing the injection thefore leaving scars??
 
Not sure about the scars but why risk it when it's so easy and swabs are so cheap? Just think for a sec what surfaces your butt cheek is exposed to on a regular basis. Don't have time to search for a link but google or YouTube some pics or vids..pretty nasty stuff.

trust me im not defending him lol i told him like 10 times already and said hes fucking retarded but he just wont listen to me and says im being gay/faggot and paranoid for cleaning before and after injection..

What im amazed is that he hasnt gotten any infections.. I thought that the chances of infection without proper cleaning were really high but now im seeing that they are actually pretty low.. Even though hes my friend i honestly hope he gets an infection, just a minor one so he learns not to be a fucking retard
 
Before you should be swabbing the vial and site. After doesn't matter as the wound on the surface has likely closed seconds after pulling the pin out and applying pressure to stop the bleeding/leakage of oil.

Toilet paper is a poor choice due to chemicals in it designed to help it dissolve in septic systems - but he's likely not going to die from it.

Always swab before, after would be a preference. Listen when in doubt follow what you have seen and experienced in the doctor's office and the hospital.

Have you ever had to shower before an injection at the doc's office or in the hospital? let's get real here.

Megatron28 hit it twice here. Do you think I had alcohol on hand and used it when I was a junkie (years ago) NO never and I'm the guy who thankfully never got an infection. But some guys back then had to have half their arm cut out due to infection and abscess. But no one took showers Haa!!!

IT IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE or any different than the doc's office

Swap it...I pin trt after my shower.....no swap w fresh needle but I do not advocate being me to anyone....
 
fundamental sterilization and bsi has to be practiced.. you dont want to know what happens when you get an infection
 
Why does everyone do everything right, but their friends are all so stupid? I mean, I have this friend who has a huge penis...No I don't. I'm talking about myself! There! See how easy it is to just admit that your "friend" is you?
 
You need swabs anyway to swab the vial, so you already have them, so why not use them? You don't need swabs, necessarily. I guess it's cheaper to buy alcohol and cotton balls separately

and i don't always swab site but i do swab my vials always... im an ex addict and i've IVd enough shit that's been cut up by 14yr old kids in the ghetto that if i didnt get an abcess or infection with that... something made in the oven and heated prolly wont get me an infection either
 
I asked a similar question to mike Arnold and he said he doesn't swab with alcohol and he never got a infection. But I wouldn't recommend that to anyone. He was a pretty smart guy so im sure he knew something I didn't. But still I would say better safe than sorry.
 
only reason i swab vial is because its been sitting there and if i contaminate a whole vial i'd be pissed lol
 
I'm on TRT and I havent wiped for an injection in over half a year. I'm a lazy dumbass but you better be safe than sorry. I might get an infection on of these days who knows.
 
Alcohol wipes or a bottle and cotton is cheap. It takes two seconds to wipe. Why anyone wouldn't do this is beyond me.
