It’s worse then I thought

It’s worse then I thought. My last check-up the Doc said I have a Varicocele I did all my research and found that it causes low T and is correctible through micro surgery. Then I go back to the Doc. yesterday and he tells me my T level is 200 and my LH is the problem. So I guess I am secondary and not primary. He is pushing the Androgel or pellets. I have been on the Androgel for 2 weeks with no improvement. I insisted on injections so I can have more control over the dose and how I feel. I don’t like the restrictions of the Androgel, I have 2 young daughters at home. I said that pellets I will need to have inserted and then wait 3 to 6 months before I can adjust anything. He agreed to let me do the injections but not for another 2 weeks. He said that I need to get the testosterone from him and not from a pharmacy. Does any of this sound right?

With any testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) you may have to wait more than 2 weeks. And with Gel after an hour there should be no issue with transferring it. But I was on patches and know how it feels to have to mess with that crap every day. I guess you could get the T from him and not the pharmacy, doesnt really matter does it, unless his office is a pain to get to.

I did not know that the Gel could only be transfered for an hour. I was told that it had to be covered at all times and if you sweet through a shirt you need to change and you need to shower before any direct contact with the skin. As for the getting the T from the Doc just seems strange. why not just give me a script?

It still can but from what I have read if you put it on after a nice shower on dry skin and give it an hour to absord you should be fine. Also if you put it on in the AM and its 8hours later I cant imagine anything thats left or if any is there would absorbe enough to do any damage. At any rate I wouldnt want to be tied to it on a daily basis either. But the thing with T is its more controlled I get mine from the Va and they mail it with a in person signature so I have to get the slip off of the door have it held and go pick it up as I work, so that could be the reason.

He is full of it, at least on requiring you to get it from him. My doc called my script in to CVS (company insurance mail order), and they mail me 10ml at a time.

I inject 60mg of Test Enan (or Cyp) on Monday and Thursday (total of 120mg a week). I was at 150mg a week, but was peaking about 1300 total test, and my E2 was spiking up in the 80s.

Sorry for the off topic...
Ace, how much Aromatase inhibitor (AI) are you taking to get your e2 down from the 80's? You taking Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) also??

No HCG. Right now I am taking .25mg Adex EOD until I feel like I am in the sweet spot, then I will probably try to back it down to .25mg 2x week with my injections. 4 doses in and it is working already. Definitely noticing improved mood, MW, libido.

I have a question I have low LH so I thought that HCG would be what I should be on. My Doc said that the insurance company would not approve HCG unless it was for fertility reasons. He said it was more expensive then testosterone so why not just give testosterone. Does that Make sense?
