Legs just won't respond !

Every week i really hammer my legs but the growth response is so slow!! Any one got a good workout for legs if not i'll cut the fuckers off and be done with it!! :evil:

My leg workout as it stands

6 sets of 8-10 squat rack
6 " " leg extention
6 " " leg press
6 " " calve raises
6 " " reverse leg curl
First set always a light one on each exercise and moderate to heavy second set last four all out pain!!!! :Puke:
 
You can drop or nearly drop leg extentions, they aren't going to make you grow.

Thats a shitload of work, and you do calves before hamstrings? I dont know how your calves dont spasm on that one. You should also do something for the soleus, i.e. seated calf raises not just standing.

My legs fluctuate a lot with my bodyweight, that is the first place weight goes and the first place it seems to come off of.

You might give front squats a go for something different.
 
Too many exercises if you are a hardgainer in the legs department. Squats and calf raises that's it for legs.

if you can squat for 6 tuff sets and then finish the rest of that workout -it just means you arent squatting heavy enough..

try 2 work sets of squats one in the 5-8 rep range and then a lighter set in the 20 rep range..bot of these sets need to be brutal that you almost cant finish them

I dont do a lot of volume for legs or I throw up, and I'm already feeling my workout for about 5 days afterwards anyway.
 
Mudge, then you will like this guys proposed routine:

"davis set", it's a 6 week routine.
done twice a week, basically the 1st 2 weeks u do 10 sets of max wt non stop. press, rack, drop wt, squat again, no rest. 3 & 4 weeks you do same but go up to 3 reps per set, still no rest. 5 & 6 weeks you do 7 reps a set, and still no rest between sets.
squats: max wt x 10sets starting with 305 ish (gonna need to see how much i max i have used 350 in the past before my 3 month lapse in lifting..)
hack squats: 2x20
seated leg curls: 2x20

Who thiks this stupid shit up. It is readily apparent it is all fiction. Can you say puke-fest?

I used to have the same problem.

Now I just stick to leg press feet close, squat/hack squat feet wide, and leg ext.

4sets each...ever since my legs have grown tremendously.
 
Drop some excercises and sets.
I do 6 sets of squats and that's all my leg day . I can barely remain standing up after those 6 sets. It gives me good results.
I do deads on back day (normal and stiff leg) and target hams there.

This is what I find with every dude that works out his legs. They will do 18sets for legs and only 6 sets for leg curls. Why does someone do 12 sets for their biceps and only 6 sets for leg curls?! MORE MORE MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Squats, Squats and more Squats. After that add in some hack squats, leg pressens and stiffed deads, some legcurls after that. All youll need.

Might I inquire why you beleive all those lifts are needed? How much do you squat if you don't mind me asking?

i agree. I think i do 12 total sets on legs and i feel it all weekend.
 
In answer to you Iron addict i just have build that routine up out of miss advice i spose! just trying to make that few extra pound,spose we all get it wrong at times a. I'll go with real heavy squats and less exercises as that sounds like the answer (squat till you puke !!) Thanks bud. :)
 
looks like your doing to much ( like everyone else said)
maybe hit up some heavy squats 3x3 and then do one high rep set on the leg press

do that and you WILL grow....no question about it. I normally get really sick to my stomach around my third set. by the end of the 4th you get that nice, pale look about you. If you can knock out a few past that point you will realize what legs is really about, and why the majority of people look like their riding a chicken. lol :Puke:

On the calf raise machine in the upward position stay on your toes for 10 seconds each rep, lift heavy with high reps for calves. For some people calves are genetic, and are difficult to develop.
