Liquid Steroids going through X-Ray Machine

Guys,

So I'll be traveling in a few days. Just curious, would the x-ray scanners at airport "mess up" my liquid steroids? Anyway to get them not to scan it?

Thanks

I suppose they could excite the valence electrons enough to jump to an unstable orbit if the x-rays are at their highest strength. That might be enough to convert your test cyp to a 19-nor like deca or tren. You should be able to tell if the suspension gets cloudy or changes color though.

You could shield your meds in a lead case wrapped in tin foil or simply put them in a bag and ask them to hand check it. Kind of like people used to do with old fashioned film cameras.

Seriously, millions of travelers take medications of all kinds through those scanners. Think of the liability if these machines randomly turned these (and your snack) into toxins.

I really doubt this is an issue.

Wouldn't you need to wrap them in lead to block the alpha and beta radiation :p?

Just pack your prescribed items in your bag along with pins. Like mprtz said, millions of people take medications through airlines all the time. I would not try to hide anything.
