SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco authorities are investigating a mother who said on a national television program that she gives her 8-year-old daughter Botox injections.
Trent Rohrer with the city's Human Services Agency tells KGO-TV that officials need to sit down and talk with Kerry Campbell and her daughter, Britney.
Rohrer says it was unusual for a mother to inject a child with the anti-wrinkle shot.
Campbell appeared with her daughter Thursday on ABC's "Good Morning America." She enrolls Britney in beauty pageants and says she got the idea to give her daughter Botox from other pageant mothers.
Rohrer says his office received numerous calls from people concerned about Britney's well-being after the TV appearance.
Botox injections can be painful and are not recommended for anyone under the age of 18.
O.M.G !!!! What is wrong with this lady ???????
I saw this on tv a few days back and couldn't believe it... Are you kidding me ? injecting Botox on an 8 year old ???
I have a huge problem with this, I have 3 beautiful daughters, 9,7,3 I'm against pageants for girls, I think it sends out the wrong message to them, is ok to be competitive & you have to teach your kids that they are not always going to win & this is ok as well, but I think pageants teach little girls that is ok to be judge based their looks, and IMO creates a very superficial view of what a girl just be judged on.
I'm raising my girls to be strong, independent an to use their brain, not their beauty. No offense to the parents that are involved in pageants, I just don't agree witht the message it sends out.
As far as the Botox, this mom is crazy, why would u want to do something like that to a little girl ????.. Botox I hear could be very painful, I have a hard time taking my kids to get their regular shots at the doctor's office, (it hurts me more than them)... I could never make them go thorugh something like this... Just wrong !!!!!!!
