Muscle growth and proportionality.

MRZ!!!!!!!!!

I ve reeppppped u 2 much and I cannot again w o showing bias...lol

Very well put. !!!!!

And since I was an elite colliegate powerlifter I too am stuck in the 80 s. Your logic is irrefutable. I think a good way to end this is that if an individual is starting out at say 5 11 165 like I did and he want s to build up overall mass as quickly as possible eating and training the big 3 is a GREAT WAY to accumulate mass.

As you progress through 200 pds and you want to compete in bbding then your gonna want to start focusing on aesthetically pleasing muscles unless you have or had a 46 coat w a 32 waiste...I did...I would do a power meet and 2 weeks later a show as I have a metabolism like a 12 yr old boy.

Good thread..no name calling or internet bullying...

Zilla, I'm not gonna argue with you on this, you're obviously knowledgeable on the subject and I respect that. I always say you never stop learning about weight training, especially in these forums, and this is no exception. I have no problem admitting I was wrong, I guess my point was that it does stimulate other muscle groups to a point, which we agree on. Thanks for the information as well, I find these types of facts very interesting, especially the myth busting aspect. Old fcks like Teutonic...haha, and myself need to learn this shit so we can stop misleading younger people in the gym. regards :)

i've been reading around and i read that the body needs to grow proportionately.

Is it true that without working legs/back other body parts such as arms and chest wont grow? Does this hold true for AAS users to, or just a natural athlete?

"it needs to" as in it should.....
you can work out what you want, but would look silly like many guys do working just arms and chest, i call them "club" bodybuilders cuzz they do it for the clubs and girls mostly and look like tools (no offence to you guys out there, its just shallow and sad IMO)

i believe the statement is 'squatting and deadlifting contribute to stronger and bigger total body'

not 'squatting and deadlifting will develop all your bodys muscles to their maximum size and potential'.

i guarantee the guy who deads 600 and squats 500 will have a much greater potential for overall size and strength everywhere than the guy who does not train his lower body.
know what a yates row is? bent row? this is biomechanically one of the strongest positions your lat can be in to contract against gravity. good luck bent rowing 315 or 405 with no posterior chain development.

not training your lower body is a prescription for a terribly imbalanced injury prone physique over the years.

that can also be genetics....

I have always had chicken legs - but also until recently I have always been a pencil necked geek. Still, no matter how much I worked my legs they would never gain muscle. TRT is allowing them to gain muscle for the first time in my life!! They are actually starting to look good instead of something I need to hide.
