My DAD has Low Testosterone

My dad had labs done 2 weeks ago and his results were:

Total T: 273 ng/dl
Free Testosterone: LOW 21. 6 pmol/L (range: 31-94 pmol/L)
Estradiol (regular): <70 pmol/L (range: <157 pmol/L) so it is LOW.
(the lab cannot measure anything less than 70 pmol/L...which is considered "Low")

He has the same family doc I have been dealing with and it's obvious he has not been running complete labs on my dad even after complaining of lack of energy for YEARS. He has him on Paxil, Trazodone, (sleep) and Avodart for BPH.
My dad started developing anxiety/depression symptoms the last 8 years and he has been on Paxil and Trazodone for all that time.
This family doc says he will address it....
I don't believe it....he did nothing for me all these months why would he help him ???
It's not totally unbelievable to think that SSRI drugs do lower T over the long term. Either that or Avodart is doing it and it's lowering his E2 as well.
That's why he's feeling anxious.
He's 62 y.o. his last blood work done 7 years ago had his Total T at 741 ng/dl

He's 62. Lower levels of testosterone are part of growing older. The anxiety could be caused by the Paxil. Or it could be stress due to whatever reason; financial, getting older, etc.

Yes and Yes to both comments. He's been on Avodart too for over a year now. His E2 is low.

Takes up to a year for avodart to become efficacious. You answered your own questions to why he has anxiety. Medication, low E2, stressors in life. Have him manage the stress first, then look at an alternative to Paxil. TRT should be last on the list.

Paxil will mess you up royally. i have been on this poison for over 10 years, and ive finally found the inner strength to start weaning off of it. i attribute most of my problems with low t, fatigue, and others to paxil. it's the #1 reason, in my opinion, why i had to start trt. a good website for him to visit would be paxilprogress.com . a 10% taper is recommended every 2-3 months in order to reduce the side effects of withdrawal, and without a doubt paxil has the worst withdrawal effects of any other ssri by far
