My dad had labs done 2 weeks ago and his results were:
Total T: 273 ng/dl
Free Testosterone: LOW 21. 6 pmol/L (range: 31-94 pmol/L)
Estradiol (regular): <70 pmol/L (range: <157 pmol/L) so it is LOW.
(the lab cannot measure anything less than 70 pmol/L...which is considered "Low")
He has the same family doc I have been dealing with and it's obvious he has not been running complete labs on my dad even after complaining of lack of energy for YEARS. He has him on Paxil, Trazodone, (sleep) and Avodart for BPH.
My dad started developing anxiety/depression symptoms the last 8 years and he has been on Paxil and Trazodone for all that time.
This family doc says he will address it....
I don't believe it....he did nothing for me all these months why would he help him ???
It's not totally unbelievable to think that SSRI drugs do lower T over the long term. Either that or Avodart is doing it and it's lowering his E2 as well.
That's why he's feeling anxious.
He's 62 y.o. his last blood work done 7 years ago had his Total T at 741 ng/dl
