My Titan Fury experience so far

So far I can't touch with anything, I get about 2 inches off and it just parks. Interestingly, I am weaker at the bottom it feels like, although I am betting on that being because I am not hitting the right spot. I've tried high, I've tried low, could be my elbow positioning perhaps. Yes, you definitely need the belt, or the shirt will ride up and choke you.

I believe I got the sleeves as far back as we could, but I will have to try next time having my partner tug more from behind. I also need to ask around where to touch, I tried arching my normal amount, and also next to none other than getting my lower back off the bench, neither seemed to improve anything.

Once I push off its great, as in at least some improvement. But the weight at the bottom sits like a dead duck unless its 405, 455 I am stuck on, and still can't touch. So tomorow I ask around some more. No real pain using the shirt, although pulling the sleeves afterwards made me aware of what happened, which was somewhat expected (see below). Anyhow, I hope to be able to get something out of this with some training because right now, I am not getting hardly a thing out of it, so I'm very "rook."

The shirt "feels" like it wants me at the nipple line, but that could be my elbows? Hmm.

never used a fury. sides you a big guy and benching 4+ raw. you need more weight to touch. =0) send me a clip if you like and ill see if i can spot anything for ya.

looks like it fits right.

Okie, I re-read the article on putting on the Fury and I need to play with the shirt more to get the bar lower.

I just got mine two weeks ago. Couldn't get 495 or 545 to touch. Not much point in going heavier since I can barely stabilize and certainly can't push it up. I actually got refitted and they're sending me one two sizes bigger. Shirt newbs (like us) have to often get a shirt loose enough to touch 50lbs over our raw. Then (I've been told) you can get a size smaller and your chest will get a little bigger and you can meet your shirt in the middle. The metal militia site has great articles on breaking in a shirt. That's where some of this info comes. Good luck! We'll have a race to see who can touch and press first in their shirt :blue:

haha, yeah I was trying to get on their site last night and it was down again. I am going to pickup one of their DVDs. My shirt size is about 1.5" over my chest.

I believe what I need to do is hike the back up and pull the front down more, and maybe play with the sleeves. Because it really wants to go about nipple which is too high for me to have power, so I'm weak at the bottom of the rep.

theres an art touching in those shirts. thats why you guys need to hit an mm seminar or find someone who knows what they are doing and get some help.

you may not have it on correctly. =0l

545 should touch. you have to roll up at the bottom.

if your elbows are out of position it can really throw you off , keep the tuck in TIGHT until 2/3 to 3/4 up then slowly flare them out to lockout , if you are haveing trouble keeping the tuck there is a trick to try , when you put the sleeves on keep your arms/hands upside down like you were going to reverse grip bench , once the arms are fully inserted try flipping the hands back over and you will see that the sleeves are fighting you and trying to keep the tuck . ive never tried this myself but ive been told that you can wet the fury just like a denim to loosen it up , if you decide to try this just get a cheap spritz bottle and spray until slightly damp , you can allways add more water later so dont get crazy at first . also believe it or not the fury has to be broken in and it will take several sessions to do this , this breaking in process will loosen the shirt some . IF you know someone who would be willing to do it you can get someone slightly smaller to use it a few times , this will jump start the breaking in process and loosen the shirt .

i forgot to mention this earlier but moveing your hands out as wide as legal will make it easier to touch lighter weight as well .

send pullinbig that clip , he may be a goofy bastard but he knows his shit :wink2:

KEEP THE UPDATES COMEING , your documenting of the process you go through trying to learn to use a shirt will really help the next person who decides to buy one .

I had several people help. They aren't Gene R., but they are better than I. The shirt was just too damn small, wet and all. It was a 46, but my shoulders and arms are a little bigger than my chest, so the chest plate could not set in the armpit in the front. A 48 would do, but I am going for a 50 to have a "meet" fit. I still like the idea of growing into shirt support a little. What's funny compared to Mudge is that I am a high bencher narrow grip raw, and I feel the shirt is awkwardly pushing the bar down to my belly. I took some weight off my raw bench and worked on pushing it to the upper abs, arms tucked. Since I am waiting for my 50, I figured I would get ready. I had someone measure me and sent those to Titan, so I fucked up, not them. I must have got something wrong. . . But any more thoughts are fine. What's also weird is that I got "the marks" at the elbow, not at the armpit like Mudge.

I had noticed that after my first set or two, the neck started coming and hitting me litterally in the neck, so I dont think I had the front pulled down enough, possibly not being carefull with the belt tension may have also increased that problem. I am hoping too that it just requires some break-in and that I'm not highly in the wrong on putting it on. Mine goes on pretty fast, its oversized about 1.5", its the fine tuning that takes awhile. I am thinking of making adjustments before getting it all the way on next time, as opposed to trying to "fix it" later.

Fitting Your Titan Fury

The thread marking from the sleeve is consistent in both arms, I put the arms on first, then slip my head through with my arms up high (I have help doing this). The thread is supposed to point to the elbow, so I look to be pretty good there. But like a roller timing chain being off a single tooth, pretty good might be all the difference in the world between just right, and try again Captain.

those shirts are not designed for naroow grip high benchers. you not getting out of the shirt what it has to offer.

who told you the chest plate had to be in your arm pits? if you got the shirt on its not too small. esp if its a closed back poly.

try benching with 2 boards for a while, then drop to 1 and then finally none. It might take a few sessions but that should get you touching.
It took me about 5 or 6 sessions with my fury to start getting something out of it. It put about 50lbs on my bench now and this is the loosest fit they offer.
