Nandrolone study on tendon strength

Rat studies / 10
Unrealistic scenario (no test) / 10

Not even worth discussing

Wow, you sound intelligent, buddy... Go to Google scholar and look up nandrolone's effect on tendons if you don't like that particular study and you can find quite a few variations. Please find me one study that shows anything positive in regards to tendon healing, strength, or otherwise.
So what happens in animal studies isn't a good foundation for human studies?
Also try to talk like a normal human being instead of using that gay bb.com /10 bullshit.

What happens in rats does not necessarily translate to humans. I had a graduate pharmacology professor who said the first thing he taught med students was that humans are NOT big rats. I didn't read your study and I'm not giving any other opinion that humans are not big rats.

wtf, why so hostile? You asked for opinions on this study so I gave an opinion on THIS particular study.... not "others on google scholar."

In no way, shape or form am I disagreeing with the conclusion, I'm saying that the methodology is poor and THIS particular study isn't really worth discussing.
And I'm not saying that animal studies aren't a good foundation (edit: or better might be 'starting point'), only that they suggest or imply a conclusion rather than offer anything concrete, more follow-up is needed to draw any real conclusions for humans.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but wanted to hear some opinions on it...I know there is/was a sticky on here about how deca and low dose T (TRT levels) can boost tendon strength and growth. This study apparently used nandrolone alone without the use of test. I would assume that would play a role in the results.

Anabolic steroids prevent tendons from becoming stronger through training

Anabolic steroids prevent tendons from becoming stronger through training

Strength athletes who use anabolic steroids non-stop are almost bound to develop tendon problems, including the risk of tearing them.
Brazilian physiologists came to this conclusion after doing experiments with rats. They believe that steroids, while boosting post-training muscle growth, also prevent muscle attachments from becoming stronger.

Ummmmmmm....before you you make comments about intelligence and act hostile to a great member like Optimal, I would ask yourself 1 question: do you not see something amiss between your statement and what your link is ACTUALLY saying?

Edit* that's the title and first paragraph in the link you posted. Apparently it doesn't even matter that it's rat studies if you don't read the study first ;)

Drey nicely worded response to a not so nice reply to a post...got your six , mate.....we must be kin, son...

My apologies for the hostile post.. Normally not like that... I'm not saying that deca boosts tendon strength.. I'm saying that this site had a sticky that said that deca increases collagen synthesis by 250%...I'm honestly just trying figure out where that info came from and why I can only find studies showing the opposite. Aside from that.. I would contribute my two ruptured patella tendons to aas use.. Also have a Tricep tendon that's ready to detach itself. I find that adding 200mg of deca to my trt makes it feel a whole lot of worse.

Again my bad on the asshole post... Rough nite..

Hey we all have those bad days; the thing here is you manned up and didn't act like a child afterwards so respect to you bro.

IMO the info is somewhat outdated. It's been a while since I checked the research but I remember my impression was that the increases in tendon strength were in the acute setting. In the chronic setting it could actually make things worse. I remember a few studies performed on people with torn tendons showed adding high doses of deca were detrimental to recovery. It healed to quick maybe or the healing was incomplete and rushed and the fusion of the tendon done with deca was inferior than of the body was left to do it on its own means. Personally, I wouldn't count on deca to help these kinds of injuries but if wanting to test the waters the figure I remember seeing was a relatively low dose of nandrolone of around 2mg/lb BW
