NCallo's TRT Journey (Australia)

My week 4 blood test results are in:

TT = 19.1 nmol (550 ng)
E2 = 137 pmol (37 pg)
LH & FSH = <0.1
Hematocrit = 0.50

Blood was drawn 14 days after my second fortnightly shot of 250mg of test enanthate.

TT was higher than i thought it would be, and so was the E2.
I'm happy to see my Hematocrit unchanged from baseline.

What to you guys think of these results, bearing in mind my less than ideal dosing schedule?

Additionally, i can confidently say that my feeling of well-being is greatly improved about 1-2 days after each shot. I've felt really good yesterday and today. And my gym results have been unreal. I'm up 4kg since I started treatment, although it's probably all water weight. I started weight training again around the same time as starting treatment and my diet has been set to 'bulking'. Strength is coming back quickly too.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. You should get lab results to see what you peak levels are. So about 2 days after an injection. It would be good to see what yourbestradiol is coming in at.

UPDATE

I'm about 11 weeks into treatment, still on 250mg/fortnight of testosterone enanthate.

The good:
- Mood and motivation are improved.
- Anxiety and depression are gone (not gone altogether, but enough to say thay are not a problem for me)
- Strength is up. My weight is up 6kg. My training is reaping the benefits of the test.
- Libido at times has been sky high, and ED issues have sometimes disappeared.
- Energy levels are well up from pre-treatment.
- Hematocrit levels are unchanged from baseline.

The bad:
- I have some back acne. It bothers me 'slightly'.
- Libido can also be low and is generally inconsistent. This bothers me.
- ED issues are also present at times. This bothers me.
- Did have some bloating, seems to have gone. The bloating doesn't bother me.
- Testes have atrophied slightly (as expected). This doesn't bother me too much.

Latest lab results are as follows (blood taken 14 days after injection - these are my trough levels):

TT = 22.0 nmol (634ng)
FT = 655 nmol (2.98%)
E2 = 172 pmol (47pg)
LH & FSH =both <0.1
Hematocrit = 0.51

Total testosterone level looks good to me. However the E2 level is too high, and probably explains some of my side effects. As of this week I've been given the OK to self inject, so i will be switching to 62.5mg every 3.5 days. So same overall dosage, just split into more frequent shots. I'm hoping the more constant levels will bring down my E2 level and the side effects disappear. I will run this protocol for 4-6 weeks before deciding if i should introduce an AI, or change my test dosage.

I will actually do one more 250mg shot so i can test my peak levels at 48hrs.

Question:
Once I've done my last 250mg shot, how many days should i wait before doing my first 62.5mg shot? I was thinking 7 days.

You were definitely getting a roller coaster effect on that protocol. This change should help you out a lot.

You should probably wait for 14 days to pass to the next injection. But if you really want to do 7 that would work too.

Oh.. You are due for a blood donation to lower your hematocrit.

UPDATE

Here are my peak results, taken 48hrs after a 250mg test-e injection:

TT = 43.5 nmol (range 11.5 - 32.0) (1,253ng)
FT = 1,545 pmol (range 260-740)
E2 = 253 pmol (range <160) (69pg)
SHBG = 16 nmol (15-50)

I'm now self injecting, although I've decided to go with one injection of 125mg per week. If I'm being honest, as of late I haven't been noticing much of a drop off between shots (my old routine was 14-day shot intervals). Yes I did feel my best in the 5 days post injection. But I still felt fine for the remaining 9 days…

I also have an appointment with a new doctor shortly - currently just working with my GP.

My high E2 number worries me. I will discuss this with the new doctor at my first consultation.

Hi, I have read through your thread and just had a question for you. I also live in Australia and suffering from alot of symtoms due to low T. I have been tested at 9.1, 10, 11, 12 was highest.
I have an appointment on the 13th this month to see a endo, but due to the guidelines do you think I will be prescribed T? My test dropped after having testicular cancer and loosing one of my testicals.

Thanks

I had similar test results to you and found my endo relied only on test results, and ignored symptoms. I've since found a doctor who relies on both symptoms and test results when advising on treatment.

Your results are low enough to get a doctor to treat you. However make sure you are also relying on your symptoms when you make the decision how you want to be treated.

If this doctor doesn't come to the party, find another.

Thanks for the quick reply! I will keep that in mind and if doctor is in the same boat ill have to find another.
I Was worried they would refuse any help until I tested below 8 if I ever did, which is not ideal seeings though I have symptoms.

Great log!

I'll be following this... I'm 6 months into a TRT protocol here in the UK... we use Nebido over here (Test Undecanoate) - my dose is the equivalent of 250mg per week too.

Have you broached the subject of Cialis with your doc?
I take 5mg daily, mid-morning... this has most definitely helped the ED issues and also works well as a pre-workout lol

Good luck with your journey :)

BigBen

.5mg Adex MWF, took a while to dial in though !

Cool, my doc won't prescribe ADEX here in the UK... it's been tough to even get him to check my estrogen levels...
I've got some from PSL though and I'm literally just starting with it...
I'll start on the same protocol as you, and check bloods at the next available opportunity...
I have no proof that my estrogen has raised - but I'm rapidly learning to read my body - and it just felt like they had risen... minor bloated face, slight acne etc

IMO if I was doing Nebido I would be doing it no more than once a month, not 3 like stated.

I wouldn't start an AI unless you know where your e2 levels are at though as it will be a chasing your tail sort of situation...Unless of course you are getting obvious high e2 symptoms.

So you plan on doing self admin TRT?

No, my TRT has been done through a doctor, we are currently finalising my Nebido injection protocol, currently I'm injecting 1000mg/4ml every 4 weeks - my next blood tests are in 8 weeks to get a current trough level...

I am self-injecting (wife), but all the medication is done via prescription.

The reason I was going to start the Adex is because I will be starting HCG soon (not prescribed and bought from PSL) with the intention of addressing my shrinking nuts. Plus I haven't ruled out running a cycle later in the year either.

I'm sorry, I didn't understand what you meant by "IMO if I was doing Nebido I would be doing it no more than once a month, not 3 like stated" - were you referring to the ADEX?

No I was referring to the Nebido in that the recommended injection frequency and dose is 1000mg every 12 weeks which is fucking stupid, rather what you are doing 1000mg every 4 weeks is what I would be doing if I went down the nebido route.

I'd maybe wait 8 weeks until you have a baseline e2 level of what that dose of Nebido puts you at, THEN add in an AI if needed along with your hCG.

Good point, that makes a lot of sense to get a baseline E2 before adding HCG and AI.

UPDATE

Hi guys. I'm about 6 months since starting treatment. Been working with a new helpful doctor now - all usual TRT meds are available.

I've switched to 125mg/wk (1x injection per week). I've noticed nothing in terms of ups/downs during the week on this protocol.

From a blood results point of view, everything looked good, except the high E2. So I tried adding 0.5mg Adex twice per week (total 1.0mg per week). This lasted two weeks, then I stopped taking the Adex.

What i noticed from taking the Adex is I dropped some water weight, looked leaner and ED issues set in.

I've been continuing with test only for the last 6 weeks.

Great things about being on TRT: mood is great, no anxiety or depression, I'm stronger than I've ever been (at a lower body weight), I'm leaner, motivation and enjoyment for life are great.

The pesky negatives are: ED issues are present, libido is still inconsistent, I'm starting to get annoyed with my atrophy.

My plan going forward, and here's where I'm looking for some input:

I want to try some Cialis - for the ED issues. I'm thinking my libido may actually be OK, but the ED issues make it seem like there is a libido problem. Mind you, my libido has definetly been a lot higher while on TRT. I'd love to be able to get that again! Liquid Cia is on order and due to arrive shortly.

I'll redo my baseline blood tests whilst on 125mg only. Then i'll try Adex again at a lower dose - probably 0.25mg twice per week (0.5mg total/wk). Try this for 3 weeks then retest.

Another option would be to alter the test dose, but this is something i'll consider later.

Will also look to add HCG once the E2 is dialled in (to address the atrophy).

I also need to get a sleep study done - something I've yet to get around to doing.
