Need a good TRT doc in western PA, please help!

Hi, new to this forum and could really use some help finding a good doc. I live in the Franklin, PA area. There are only two docs in my area who perform testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), both are Urologists. Problem is that I need someone who is willing to help with estradiol issues. After trying Androgel, which I had to use twice a day and numbers were still bad I went looking for another doc. I found Dr.Rydze who I was impressed with and he tried me on compounded test cream and HCG. My numbers were still around 250.As some of you know, he is out of business now but I thought if he was still available he would have eventually fixed me up. Went to the other Urologist in my area and he started me on test cyp about 1 1/2 years ago and I inject 150 units weekly. all numbers are good except estradiol is now 62!! He won't prescribe Arimidex. Went to an Endo in Erie yesterday, he won't either. Anyway, I can feel the effects of the high E2 and don't know where to turn. Can someone please recommend a good doc that will work with me, maybe in the Pittsburgh area? I'm getting desperate here! Thanks for any help!

Try splitting your dose in half and injecting twice a week. So 75mg every 3.5 days. That helps some guys manage their estrogen roller coaster. This may help you avoid needing an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) entirely.

Lot's of people have high praise for IMT so don't hesitate calling them if you are looking for a new doctor to manage your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) program. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies! I have health insurance which covers the cypionate. If there is a doc that would accept health insurance that would definately help me out.

It may be tough to find a doc to prescribe you those. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and Aromatase inhibitor (AI) are off label script for what you want to use them for, so insurance will not cover it.

Some guys get their doc to prescribe it, but he didn't bill insurance for it.

why anyone would spend hundreds of dollars on labs to get dialed in, only to attain non controlled meds is about one of the stupidest things I can think of.

I get Aromatase inhibitor (AI) prescribed by my doctor and my health insurance (Blue Cross) pays for it. It is prescribed as part of my TRT.

Thanks for the help! I'll try splitting injections first and see how it goes.If insurance doesn't cover an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) I would pay for it but it sure would be nice for a doc to at least want to give me a script. My Blue Cross will cover labs and test so that in itself is a big help.Just can't find a knowledgable doc.

I can tell you, being from western PA and struggling with the same issues, none of the endocrine in Oxford (UPMC) or Shadyside (UPMC) are any real help. The only "Clinic" I could find was a day-spa in Cranberry, PA. But in my 5 minute conversation with them, they were more concerned about my thyroid than my low test levels.... UPMC insurance will reimburse their office visits w/a Co-pay, not sure about non UPMC (AGH / W.Penn) doctors.

With the UPMC / Highmark / AGH / W.Penn drama - I would just suggest getting someone you know you aren't going to be ripped away from in a few months.
