I agree that 18 is to young. But i did just lay out my meaning about it. Because i have been in the same boat.

The only reason an 18 yr old should be taking testosterone is if it is prescribed by a doctor. If that were the case you'd be on it for life too! If you're not making gains at 18 naturally then you're doing something wrong. I don't think you understand how much food you actually need to eat. I tried to help a friend make some gains in the gym last year. After 2 months he said that he just couldn't make any gains, so he quit. I told he's got to start eating if he wanted to make gains.
He replied, "I am eating, I had a pretty big sandwich for lunch today."
I just laughed at him and said, "Whatever."

I remember a few years ago I was on what I called a poor mans bulker. This was my regular diet.

Breakfast
Big bowl of oatmeal
Can of tuna
Microwave bacon

Mid morning snack
PB&J sandwich (lots of peanut butter)
Cold pasta salad

Lunch
Half pound hamburger and a salad

Afternoon snack
Usually some kind of spaghetti with meat

Snack before dinner
Home made chicken snack wraps with cheese and ranch

Dinner
Whatever the wifey made. Always some good meat though.

Late snack
A couple brats or beef dogs on the grill with potatoe salad

Just before bed snack
Usually some kind of sandwich with a good amount of meat (like roast beef or ham)


For some reason I don't think you are eating that much. A lot of new people also don't realize that your diet is absolutely the hardest part of this game. The example I showed you didn't even include my post workout shakes.
 
But seriously though guys, to get back to the OP.

Carhartt may have started young and made some good gains, and that is well and good. The bottom line is that he is ONE PERSON, and one person isn't representative of the entire population. The vast majority of bros who start young without a solid foundation regret having done so.

When it comes to steroids, and your health in general, the most conservative approach is the best. Life is a marathon, not a sprint.

There are many things you can tweak in your diet, training, rest, supplementation protocol before you resort to exogenous hormones, and I suggest you do so.

If you want to know the effect of androgens on young guys, just google it. Don't look to the opinion of one person who has done okay, consider the vast majority of guys who now have low natural test because they started too early, and chemically aren't even men.

Your problem may be low testosterone levels. You need to get your diet and training down first. How does that look by the way?

cmf, check out Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe or Mass Made Simple by Dan John.

Get your diet right. Stay away from gear. You're too young and you'll grow without it.

Eat...everything. Lift heavy. Sleep. You'll grow.
