Need Some Major Help With Accutane

Hey,

I've never done AAS or anything of the sort. I've been suffering from mild acne for a long time now. It seems to get worse during the times I come back from the gym. I sweat a lot and I feel that this is a major contribution to my acne. I know what accutane does and how it shrinks the pores, so it seems optimal for me. I also should mention I went on accutane about 2 years ago, it cleared me up for a while. I took it for about 6-7 months with doses varying from 20mg to I believe 80mg maybe? Since My acne has come back I cannot see the Derm again for a new order of it as my insurance is not as good as it use to be. I do however have/ can make a few extra hundred dollers to spend on the pills to order online and take at my own risk.

My question: How to make the accutane Cycle with mg,daily, monthly ect..?

PS:
-21 Years, 180 lb, 5'8
-Tried B5 Cycles, High DOSAGE zinc cycles, BP creams, S.A products, Clean Clear Wipes for the gym...

After Doing some research and Looking at my old cycle I got from the derm I came up with:

Course: 6 Months
Month 1: 40mg ( 1 Pill/Morning)
Month 2: 40mg ( 1 Pill/Morning)
Month 3: 80mg ( 1 Pill/Morning + 1 Pill/Night)
Month 4: 80mg ( 1 Pill/Morning + 1 Pill/Night)
Month 5: 80mg ( 1 Pill/Morning + 1 Pill/Night)
Month 6: 40mg ( 1 Pill/Morning)

Going to cost me about ##### US for the entire 6 months. Any feedback?

Avoid this drug at all costs IMO. it can really mess you up, even down the line, years after stopping, on a genetic level.

run some heavy antibiotics if needed, even that is still a better option over accu IMO.

I also rec taking 3-4 servings of apple cider vinegar "with mother" every day ( drinking it)
and using a natty soap like "dr.bronners magic soaps" ( i like peppermint one) and wash no more than 2x a day ( over cleaning actually makes it worse, tells body to pump more out since you are too dry)

I personally love accutane. Only thing that ever worked for me, and it worked really well. Obviously it is a harsher drug than others but if you can tolerate it and you need it (tried everything else) than I absolutely recommend it. Since you've already ran it and your looking at another go I'm assuming like me your sides were minimal.

Honestly I'd rather see you stay at 40mg and just run it longer. You should be running it for around 8weeks AFTER your acne has completely cleared. Staying at 40 should keep the sides to a minimum.. And the longer the run the better.

Just to add to Prince's post:

For "mild" acne accutane isnt really necessary, but since you responded well to your last run on tane I dont see an issue with another go.
You want to get regular bloodwork while on the accutane to ensure your liver is being kept in good shape, this will also allow you to adjust the dosing as required.

If you are unable to get access to regular bloodwork then you should NOT be using accutane - no negotiation on this.

Absolutely agreed ^^ bloodwork is essential. And stay away from the booze while on.. Maybe look at running UDCA or NAC aswell to help your liver out if need be :)

I'm plannign on buying 2 packs @ 180 caps/40mg for around 700. So basically I'm better off runing it for 6 months or so, then once it clears around then, keep running it for 2 more months you say? will the body not get use to the same 40mg? My old derm put me on 80mg and my acne was not terrible? Also, I did respond well to the last treatment I did, sides were hardly a issue, just chapped lips.

I don't think you'll get used to it. When I ran it my derm kept me on the same dose from start to finish (about 8months.) What I would suggest is run it until your acne is pretty much cleared, then continue for another 2months. Personally I think you'd benefit more from running 40mg for 9 months as opposed to 6months with three high dose months.

But I'm no expert.. See what Rip thinks. Hes a lot more knowledgable on the subject.

It's been shown to be effective at 10% the prescribed dose, which is typically 1mg/kg BW...so if a derm would prescribe 100mg/d for a 100kg patient, you can get up to 80% of the results (except for actually killing the sebaceous cells) running just 10mg/d

Lots of guys have used it in the 20mg EOD range for this reason and been quite happy with the results, myself included.

Stick to 40mg for 4-6 months unless you have access to bloodwork & the acne isnt improving.

I see no reason to run a 2nd cycle for longer than 6 months max.

What do you mean by "mild acne"? Can you post a pic of it? Accutane is really not first line treatment for acne nor is it a drug of choice for mild acne. It is considered 'big guns' therapy in my neck of the woods. I've seen it work well for a lot of patients with really bad acne but you should know going in that liver function blood work and other routine stuff are part and parcel of using this drug. Sure you can buy it online without a script but although your dosing seems ok you won't be doing yourself any favors if you're not monitoring your liver function on a regular basis while you're on it. Have you spoken to your primary doc about it and the insurance issue? Your primary can also write the script for the drug and do your LFTs even though he/she is not a derm specialist. This would save you some $$$. You can order your own labs online if needed, but just be prepared to titrate yourself off the drug if your LFTs are getting too high. And remember, absolutely no tylenol, no alcohol, and no gear while you are on this stuff.

accutane is the only product that actually works for acne.. however.. more is less IMO with this one.. use 20mg EOD or maybe even 2x per week.... drink plenty of water, also, dont get research grade, pharma grade is teh only way to go on this one.. i ran the research grade shit once,, and let me tell you, it had horrible side effects, pharma grade was wayyyy easier on the sides.

I had tried everything to get rid of my acne. Juiced had helped me out with the apple cider vinegar and it works to a certain extent. I went to dermatologists and everything they gave me didn't work, the crèams, antibiotics, tazorac, nothing worked for me. I ended up doing a lot of research on acne and Accutane. According to the studies that I read, if you take 40mg twice a day for 20wks (depending on your bodyweight also) you will not have any relapses. You have to be ready for this stuff before you even start using it. My 20wks ends on the second week of December. You will need a lot of lotion to keep your entire body moisturized every single day. You will need a lot of chapstick for your very dry lips.

These were my experiences.

In the first 4 weeks I experienced dryness really bad, but I kept my body, face everything well lotioned so it was not that bad, I had to get used to this lotion thing because we guys don't like to use lotion.

Chapstick use is everyday and multiple times a day.

I use NAC, milk thistle and liv-52 everyday along with my other vitamins.

All of my acne is completely dried up and gone, I may get a pimple here and there but nothing like before. My face used to be like an oil well, now its normal, when I pass my fingers across my face I don't experience all the oil that used to be there. My hair was always very oily causing me to actually shampoo everyday because my scalp would itch so bad. The oiliness is gone and I shampoo once a week without any irritating itching.

My urologist who is a good friend monitors my bloodwork so I can keep everything in check. Personally I don't regret using it at all, the sides were not that harsh for me compared to other people that I know who could not wait to get off the stuff.

This is just my experience...

My advise, stay away from accutane. About 30 years ago I took it for severe acne. I swear it's the accutane that gave me low T. I have tried to figure out why my T was 170, and I can't see any other cause. Not to mention accutane has been shown to cause birth defects.

Try other stuff!

If your acne is unbearable, try the Accutane again at a low dose , around 20mg/day. If it isn't unbearable, let it pass it course. Use dermatology recommend soaps/creams, etc.. And anything else that will help.
