needle question

Hey Guys,

This may be a stupid question but what is a safety needle? I see some have this swirly thing around them. Not sure what it is.

Also when buying extra needles (without the syringe) to use just for drawing up the gear do they have to be the same manufacturer as the syringe to fit correctly?

I am on the sponsor site checking it out and just curious as what I should order.

I posted a similar thread not to long ago and was told 23 gauge 1.5 inch to draw and 25 gauge 1 inch to inject.

Sound good?

I can't comment on the safety part because all needles look different dependeing on make. As far as the needles go though, they will all fit the syringes despite brand. I've been drawing with 18g1" and injecting 22g1.5"

edit: i'm injecting in glutes so it depends on where your "sites" are for sizing

Go with the luer lock, and doesnt have to be by the same company, mine are different. I use 23 gauge 1" to inject but a lot of people say 25 1" works well too. I use a 20 gauge to draw 23 would take a while to draw!

The needle sizes look good.

I always use the same brand from the sponsors here at Ology...

So I'm not really sure about different brands working together ... "I would think they would - but it's just my guess."

What is a luer lock? I've used several different brands and they all have the same threads so you're G2G. Draw with a 21Guage or bigger imo

Safety needles will typically have a clasp with a thumb latch. It allows a person to push the latch, which pushes the clasp over the pin and it locks in place. This is typical for healthcare professionals to use as it greatly reduces the chances of them bring poked while disposing of the used pin. Hope this helps.

the luer lock is cool and all but no reason to use them on you. just get a needle like terumo. They are a good price and chuck it after your done. Now using a bigger needle to draw is all good here as well.

23g or 25g to pin. any smaller and pushing the oils threw takes 5 yrs. some guys use a slin pin with tes also.

Thanks for the info guys. So is one inch good to inject? I am pretty lean so I don't need to go through much fat tissue.
