New Full Lab Results

Welcome Wagon
I am going to be printing out a lot of info and going to my doc to see about trt. I want a refferal outside of their endo, because he said he has never ordered an SHBG or Estradiol test. Doesn't sound like someone I want to talk testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) too.

My new results were;

Total Test - 332 ng/dl (range = 300-1080)
Free Test - 63 pg/ml (range = 47-244)
SHBG - 30 nmol/l (range = 11-80)
Testosterone % Free = 1.9% (range = 1.6% - 2.9%)
LH - 5.27 iu/l (range = 1.24-8.62)
Estradiol (17B) - 19 pg/ml (range = 0-40 pg/ml)

Being that I am 31 and I think I have always had very low test. I have always been weak and had no mucle even through trying football and working out for 8 months. Got my max bench up to a whopping 145x1 at 220 bodyweight. Always had no motivation, been depressed and had softer erections since about 19 years old.

I still can't grow a beard or any real facial hair, wake up all through the night tossing and turning and I have had sex 6 times in the past year. No urge.

Hoping to get insurance to cover it, most test ranges have a low of 350 so hope to get it paid for.

poor guy, my advice is to find someone competent in treatment. definitely don't overlook letrozole as your aromatase inhibitor if you are find you are still fatigued or feeling crappy when you start testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) with your doc.

i'm just getting in to the research about it and this forum is a huge help. Thanks to all. I was surprised at the lack of good info elsewhere.

Do my numbers look off enough that I should be able to get scripts for treatment? I have been reading about this for a few days and still don't understand what good numbers are.

I guess the good thing about not ever having (most likely) normal to high test, even an average increase would be great to me. When you are on the bottom, nything higher is awesome.

Someone just posted recently that LabCorp raised their range for testosterone level.. I believe the new range is 350.. Not positive though..
I have very good insurance and it was still impossible to find a doc to treat me the way I knew I should be treated for my illness.. Best of luck or forget the luck and join the team

You're quite fortunate that your free test numbers are so high, "almost" normal.

Do some research on Dr. Shippen Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) stimulation and FIRST see if that protocol will work for you... remembering that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is basically for life [or until the next best thing!]

those free test numbers are pretty shitty, just like your total test numbers. The bottom reference range for both is of the sickest person that comes in to see the doctor. Maybe test your dhea level and see where that is at as dhea will aromatize into testosterone and could be contributing to a slight deficiency if the potential dhea deficiency is really bad. other than that Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) monotherapy could be a start to see if your nuts can pick up the slack.

Yeah the free is done with the correct method, but is still at the bottom. I am going in thursday to talk about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), i am printing out some info and taking a page from labcorps site showing the new range as well as some endo reports i found online.

All of my ranges seem fucked. I got a vericocele when i was 19 and right after i noticed it my balls ached and atrophied to almost half their size. The aching stopped and docs said my nuts are fine. This was like 1999 and all the info said vericoceles didn't affect test, but now reports say it can. Seems obvious if something shrinks your nuts it could affect your test levels.

My estradiol doesn't seem that bad though.

My father and uncle both had very low test as well, lower than mine but they were older, but I dont know if my LH and test results show teste dysfunction or not.

Thanks for the replies.

Just an update, i went to the doctor on thursday. Went over my panic issues, etc.

Then he mentioned to me that this could all be brough on by the low testosterone. He said the issue here was the fact that I did have low free and total test, but my other results were normal meaning that my pituitary and testes were functioning normal. He said that it could mean that although testing low, my test results could be normal for my body.

I had printed out the Labcorp testing sheet from their website showing their range low being 350 and who backs the range level, which brough up the previous talk about levels being "my normal".

I then gave him a sheet I printed out (I always print stuff out ahead of time as I forget while I am there) with the A.D.A.M questions and answers as well as a complete list of my symptoms. I let him know that I am not trying to be a bodybuilder, I just want my life back and over the symptoms. He is a good doctor an listens and tries to help.

Result is he is going to have me take a pill for 10 days and then check my LH or teste function. I asked him if it was similar to HCG, to which he said it is similar but a little different. It is meant to kick start my testicles to hopefully make more testosterone on their own. Now I have to wait while he is battling insurance to cover it. I guess it's good to try to find the issue instead of just throwing test at it.

I wasn't so subtle when I reached over and ripped off the bottom third of the paper, where I had written down a sample testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocol, then handed him the rest that had the ADAM and symptoms on it. I didn't want to seem too eager for test.

Hopefully I hear back monday and can start the meds.

Just got my prescription for Clomid. (doc had to fight insurance for it, then fight the pharmacy to fill it). Supposed to take it 2 times a day for 10 days then re test.

Hopefully it gets my stuff going. If it goes up a little and they don't want to go further, then Chip here I come.
