I have read article and forum post on this board AMAZING information.. almost overwhelming....
So I thought I would jsut ask my specific question and see what happens

I am a 40 male..
I hit the gym 3-4 times a week..
I am looking for speed and strength also it wouldnt be a problem if I looked better to hahaha
I eat good.. and have a good understanding of hard work will pay off.

So my goal isnt to get big but to get better.

Between all the products ont he market what would be the best direct to go.. I know nothing is easy but a product that is less work would be idea ( i guess that would be for everything lol)

thanks in advance
Steve

I think you may want to look into a training routine geared towards strength such as Wendler's 5/3/1. I'm not exactly sure what your goal is here... I know you said you don't want to get bigger, but better. Better at what? Squats? Deads? Bench? Run faster? Jump higher? Without a solid routine geared towards your goals, steroids aren't going to help much.

Welcome to 'ology. Yeah, there's so much amazing information on here. Members of this forum are in great hands when it comes to overall advice and health while using.

If you don't mind, can we get your weight, bodyfat, and training experience?

Welcome!

Sorry will get alittle more specific
My training is gear towards speed and strength -
I setup my program gear toward each of these... oly lifting ..squat ..press, bench, box jumps, stair etc so lift 3x week ( 2 months in each program heavy weight to speed training)
I also throw(highland game/strong man am events) 3 times a week.

body weight is 245lb
body percentage:20-22%
height 6-0
training exp: average

Some of my x1 lifts if this helps :
squat 405 x1
dl:405 x1
bench: 285x1
push:185 x 1
oly lifts are poor but I do my best
hanging sntach:155
hanging clean: 205

Theres an enormous amount of things you need to learn, honestly. I'm not going to be able to give you much advice until you have a basic understanding of AAS as a whole. Read, read, and then read some more. There are stickies here that provide beginner information and other important points that you'll need to become familiar with. Steroids are icing on the cake after your training, diet, and supplementation are in good order. Poor diet, and you'll definately have poor results.

I'm still trying to improve my diet. I cook my meals for the entire week, and prepare myself to hit all the macros i need to maximize muscle building potential. Truth be told, that's the key to building muscle and speed. (Along with great training of course.)

I hope it doesn't sound like i'm a dick. So many folks come around here looking for juice, but in reality, there's much more they need to accomplish first.

I hope that makes sense.

thank you bigtime .. I am not looking for a easy solution or if this is the solution for me..I appreciate your post and information and will keep reading and reading...

I would say to do a basic beginners test cycle. Train HARD while keeping your calories about the same and you'll recomp, (add more protein). AAS are not magic, I would not worry about getting too big. On a 12 week test cycle you should gain some good strength and probably drop a little fat, depending on diet. I think it would help you towards al of your goals.

as far as diet.. it is ok.. always way to improve it... which most people need to work on.. intake approx 2800 to 3000 cal a day
50%prot 40%carbs 10%fat

This is my ratio I am working with over 3 meals a day (with pre and post workout shakes)
380g pro (approx)
300g carb (approx)
35g fat(approx)

At a quick glance, up your fats and drop your protein a bit. 380 grams is A LOT of protein and ends up being counter productive. Fats are essential for hormone regulation.

I keep hearing the word "recomp" a lot. What does that exactly mean?

Best direction to go?
Eat LOTS of PROTEIN. TRAIN HEAVY, HARD!!!!
GET LOTS OF SLEEP!!!!
YOU WILL GROW

Recomposition, Basically it means to gain muscle and loose fat at the same time. It's somewhere in between a bulk and a cut cycle. You try to do a little of both, but not as much of either as you would in a full bulk or cut cycle. Diet/calorie intake is usually the determining factor.

Guys, I see a lot of good advice here for guys in their 20's. OP is 40, I think he knows how to train and how to eat. As a guy in my 40's I can tell you first hand that there's a point where your body just isn't getting any better on it's own. I think he'd do well on a 500-600mg test cycle.

You listed some good info for us, but what does "training exp: average" mean??
Can you tell us specifically how many years have you have been weight training?
could you tell us if you have ever used exogenous T or other AAS in the past?

Sorry we're not all old fucks like you Rump :flipoff:

I think the first think you should do before you begin any cycle is get some bloodwork to know exactly where you stand so you'll know what your original values are. That way you'll know if you truly recovered after your cycles when you compare bloodwork.

Thank u Rumpy. I Thoth that was the meaning but wanted to make sure. From my understanding, that's always the hardest to do no?
