There was an article in my local paper today about medication importation. The American Drug companies are continuing to clamp down on the amount of meds sent to Canadian pharmacies. This is an ongoing attempt to prevent Americans from importing inexpensive meds, and it is successful. A number of Canadian pharmacies and their affiliates are going out of business. Even US customs and the FDA are clamping down on the importation of others meds from other countries like China. The drug companies and the authorities are so concerned with our safety but not the costs.
Also, Caremark and Adv PCS are merging to compete with Medco Health and Express Scripts. From a doctor's standpoint, this is a terrible merger. Both are a nightmare to work with. And I have Adv PCS and not looking forward to the change. The combination will probably make it worse. On the other hand, no problems with Express Scripts nor Medco.
