One Bicep Lags far behinds 3 inches

I have a some huge asymetry in my biceps
my right arm measures 15"(I know this is pathetic compaired to some of the huge guys on this board), and my left arm measures a mere 12". The difference in peak is probably about a 1 and a half inch height.

I always do left arm first when doing single arm exercise(always have), and always do the same reps on the same weight(so if I get off six reps on my left arm I do the same on my right even though I could do more). My left arm is also the exact same strength, some times I can do more on my left.

I believe the difference might be because of the lack of neuromuscular development in my left arm(I was supremely right arm dominated til I started lifting a year ago). I sware the difference has gotten larger since I started working out. I was wondering what I could do to correct this besides spot injects.

I was thinking maybe one day a week I would do an extra left arm training day, probably higher reps to avoid neuromuscular OTing(you know when you go sub 4 reps a couple weeks in a row).

My normal routine is this

I am using undulating periodization because the effectiveness I read it had on medscape.

So I change my exercise, and my rep range weekly.

Sunday Biceps/Triceps

2x(4-6 )(8-10 reps )barell curls/dumbell curls
2x(4-6)(8-10 reps)hammer/preacher
2x(4-6)(8-10 reps)cable/concentration

I don't work out legs because I do wind sprints, and they are alot bigger then my upper body. 15" arms and 26" legs.

I was thinking about throwing in left arm extra day in wensday.

tricep mass is just as important for overall arm size measurements as biceps , dont jump through hoops , just stick to the basics and dont forget the triceps

Dude, I've got the same problem to a smaller extent, my right arm (pumped) is around 16.5, and the left is only 15.5-15.75.

If anyone knows how to correct this, I'd really like to know as well.

yeah I know triceps makes a very large difference, but the definition in the triceps is exactly the same, where as my bicep peak,(distance from top of bicep to the center of the arm) is about a 2 inch difference. I have been symetrically training for a year I think it might have gotten worse. And if not then it has not gotten any better.

Is there any way to try to cure this except through site injections, I hear that IGF-1 is great for local area muscle growth.

Your biceps may well be a different shape, but 3 inches is still a huge difference, very strange.

I do believe so, I push it hard, it is almost as strong as my right one by about 2 reps at an 6-8 rep range. However it is never sore(my left arm, the small one)

It is very simple:

Train your smaller arm more.

Also you should not do single arm curls at all, unless it is with your smaller arm. Obviously with your technique you are favoring one, so try to only do barbell curls or curls that use both arms at the same time.

I used to have one leg smaller than the other due to a knee operation.
I corrected the 2 inch difference by doing only one leg leg curls.

ok, thanx for the reply, and when you did your extra training was it on the same day as normal training or a different one? Also how intense was your extra training?(another full work out or less or what?)

I did it on the same day as I trained legs. I would just do legs normally and then I would add in 4-5 sets after of one leg leg extensions.
It took about 6 months and it is still 1/2 inch smaller, but it was around 2- 2 1/2 inches smaller.

Yeah I would be using all dumbbells, never use straight bar or EZ curl bar as you're right arm will be doing most of the work.

Also, if it was me I'd probably do a cycle and not even work out my right arm for 8 weeks. LOL

Once in awhile you even spot pros/national level guys with different sized arms, it happens. You may try training the left arm twice a week for awhile and see how it goes.

Man 3 inches is a lot, never heard of that big a difference before.... I know a guy who just trained his left arm with DBs and then trained his right arm with the same weight, sets, and reps until his left arm caught up. But it could be genetic, my right bicep has a higher peak but my left bicep is thicker, but both are the same size.

Man you're just like me!

My right arm is a LOT bigger than my left, but around the same strength

It's fucked, and I hate it

Me too, it's always pissed me off. I think i'm more aware of it than others though, they don't seem to notice. Peak a lot bigger on my right arm. I don't like doing front double bicep poses !!
