Only 8.5mL in my 10mL vial

The problem with a non-Luer Lock syringe is that you're using the same needle to draw and pin. You dull the needle by piercing the rubber stopper on a vial. Plus, as you said, you're restricted to short needles (fine for triceps/delts/etc) but it's also a 1mL syringe. Most dosages are 1mL or more. Doesn't sound like a very good option. You're better off pulling air into the syringe to clear the needle and then swapping to prevent waste.

Dulling is not a problem with these pins as they are 25G. Yes, it can take a little time to fill with the heavier oils but they work fine. I have pierced an old vial, then a new vial, and finally my skin and still without any problems with dulling. Never been a problem. I don't throw the needle like a dart, rather I place it against the skin and just push it in. This has always worked better for me. I inject in the hip area more towards the front and the shorter needle is just fine at that location. Been doing this for years. As I said, the volume can be a problem for many so you do have a point.

The gauge of the pin has nothing to do with whether or not dulling happens. It happens no matter what gauge it is. Sure, you can pin with it. It's not going to affect whether or not the steroids work. It just makes the pinning more comfortable.

Hey, you're a Big Brave Bodybuilder so you can handle it. Reminds me of the Cheech and Chong's Big Brave Motorcycle Rider bit, a very funny audio clip (mp3):

Slightly dull needles don't sound so bad now!

You can inject 3ml air straight into your vein and it's not going to do anything. Yes I'm saying when pulling oil into syringe, pull to .1ml before the amount you want, so if you want 1ml in syringe, pull the oil into the pin to .9ml then when you pull the pin out of the vial pull back so the oil is at the first line and you will have exactly 1ml.

I've left 1/2 air in my pins. Injecting small amounts of air into muscle does not cause any harm. Injecting even 3ml of air into a vein will not cause embolism. I wouldn't do that but I'm saying adding .1ml air is not going to hurt anyone and I pin almost daily with no issues.

Nasty take your empty vial and measure out 10ml of oil, any kind you have in your house, and put 10ml into your empty vial, then sit it next to your other vials and see if they match up then you will know if it's something you are doing or if the vials are short.

Thanks for the info, User. Let me go do that now.

EDIT: They seem to be filled correctly. I guess I'm losing 1.5mL somehow on changing pins. Seems like a lot to me, but I don't know. Going to start measuring .1mL short and pulling air into the syringe to clear the needle before swapping. I'll update after I finish this vial.

Respectfully dude, 3 ml of air into your vein could kill you, and if not you'd probably think you were going to die...... I understand you have gotten away with it so far, but I would not recommend anybody to do this.

I personally never get a full 10 ml either, but like Pork Chop was saying, for what you are trying to save IMHO your better off just chalking it up as a part of the game.

Respectfully it won't kill you and I'm not advising anyone to inject 3ml of air into a vein. What I am saying is adding .1ml air to a syringe for injection is very common. I haven't gotten away with anything because those amounts of air cannot cause embolism. Again I'm not telling anyone to inject air into a vein but I will tell you that a small amount of air will not harm you.

Talk to your doc about it or google it. Just a fact. Point is if you have 10ml vials you should have 10ml oil and there is no reason to lose any when drawn out correctly. I understand it's very easy to have loss and even more common to be slightly off while measuring.

I have been using the same method as you for the last 2 years of cruising and blasting. With a .1ml air bubble you don't inject any air at all.............it is the perfect size bubble to clear the pin without injecting air.

Thanks heavy D. That's exactly what I'm trying to explain. There are some medics around the board who can confirm this but I haven't seen them around lately. I'm not trying to get people to do something harmful just to pin exactly as you are saying. It really evens out and just pushes all the oil out.

I've been doing exactly what User says after first reading a post by him for this method and it works great.

I don't think anyone would ever short you because some people are so exact about the dose and it wouldn't be worth the problems for the supplier.

That would be like me getting a pizza with a slice missing so they could make an extra buck...

Oops, did I say that out loud - I mean chicken!
