Hi guys

was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on pain in the elbows , a had quterzone shots in them 2 months ago they have worn off and the pain is back i dont wanna continue with them as they only mask it , has anyone tried something else with success , thanks

What is the cause? If it is tendonitis, the only cure is to lay off the weights. If it is bone spurs, high reps with low weights will usually make it go away after a couple weeks. I went to the Dr, and I have bone spurs. The doc told me the worst thing to do was to stop lifting, and to do lightweight for a couple weeks. It is manageable now.

glucosamine and condroitent(sp?)... elbow wraps? if your gettin cortisone shots its probably something a little more serious though

RICE. rest, ice, compression, elevation. lay off the weights for a while, though it will feel like it, the world will not end because you took a break from training

My tendonitis in my right forearm got so bad, that I couldn't curl a 20 without pain. I finally had to just say fuck it, and not work out. I laid off arms for like 3 months, and it finally healed. It was winter, and I always wore long sleeves anyway, so it didn't make me too neurotic.

MP5 no one responded to this thread for so long i forgot about it ,

yeah man its tendonitis , im at the point were you were the pain is insane even on lifting small weights , its kinda heart breaking

i was thinking after your suggestion that i take 3 months off upper body and basically just concentrate on training legs at least that way i still train .

Biggin if glucosamine is fish cartlidge is the shark a better product then

Hey man Im kinda curious what might have led to your tendonitis. Couple ?'s

Do you bench and or press twice a week?

Play sports outside of lifting?

Designate a day of lifting to just arms?

Maybe you could post a typical weeks training?

Check out a Capzasin stick they can really work wonders even for tendonitits. It's chili pepper extract in a little applicatior. It burns the site applied to a little but really reduces pain etc...

hey bro Capzasin never heard of it will check it out for sure , cheers

injury is in both elbows its actually from motocross which i finally gave up 6 months ago after 30 years its taken its toll , i got back into training heavy weights when i stopped riding doing the 5x5 routine trained 6 days then cut back to 4 days each body part is worked once a week now , i was planinig to switch to german volume for the next 6 weeks doing the 10 of 10 as i figured working at 50% of 1RM could give my elbows a rest , but i kinda like the idea of just working legs now till its healed , i figure the test boost i will get from that will help me keep my upper body gains any way

Right on, Very logical thinking with a hint of knowledge. Like it bro..

I have had great results with GVT! The elbow pain did not go away bro! Nothing but rest and maybe a little vitamin M (motrin). Tried the glucosamine and the SC with some relief but noting like rest. Maybe just a change in routine will help. Good luck!

Ozzy, do you have it when you do tri excercises too? I could work around it, but my biceps lost some size. I could do pushing excercies for the most part, but any bicep related work like latpulls etc, fucked it up.

I would get a forearm band, that you wear right below your elbow. I still wear mine, even though it has appeared to have healed. Good news is, my biceps retained memory and are on their way back.

MP5 yeah triceps and elbows i had quaterzone shots administered into the tricep via ultrasound to hit the spot , once that wears off ill know all about it , HOW MUCH DOES IT SUCK ONLY PUSHING A QUATER OF WHAT YOU CAPABLE OF .

i actually picked up one of those straps yesterday with a product called tiger balm , i think its just the thing i needed , fuck this rest thing i just cant do it , im gonna start the german volume tonight with the strap on see how i go

The trick is to drop the weight a lot, and do high reps. Then you don't feel like you are that weak. (mind games). Not as depressing, because you are doing light weight on purpose.

Another option to consider is a fulll elbow neoprene sleeve. They fit tight, keeps your elbow/forearm area warm, and offers support. I wear that on occasion too, and it binds up a little, but still allows you to move some weight.

The problem with tendonitis (tennis elbow) is that you have microtears in the tendon. Everytime you move too much weight, you retear it, and it makes it worse.

Hey MP5

the strap works the treat , amazing what a little pressure does , i droped to 50 % of 1RM seems okay sore but do-able . GVT training is insane 10 sets of 10 with 60 second brakes the pump is huge , ill check out the sleeve as this stuff seems to make a huge difference , cheers bro
