I think that is exactly what prevents this!! I had a bad habit of pulling a muscle in my chest every time I went heavy a while back. I started doing 3 warm up sets on a fly machine then doing my normal warm up sets on bench to start my chest day. I haven't had a single problem ever since and my bench has gone up quite a bit because of it.

Doctor said my chest is basically recovered completely. I have full range of motion and in fact my chest looks bigger and better on the injured side due to the way he reattached it.
Absolutely no pain and minimal atrophy after 6 weeks from the injury. Doctor said no need for physiotherapy and he did say my recovery speed is nothing but amazing.
The conclusion to this thread = HGH works! Too bad HGH didn't fix my clicking and painful knee joint. But it sure fixed my chest muscle.
