pinning anxiety!

My best advice is to make sure your muscle is relaxed. If you are nervous, it will be easy to tense up and it will hurt. Usually, when I do a glute, I don't stand too much on that leg and feel the muscle first to make sure it is loose and not tense. The first time I injected myself, I did this and the needle went in so easy I was surprised. Didn't feel a thing.

Well I was planning on doing quads, and I think I still might, but I am giving some thoughts to glutes. however I have 25g 1" pins. I am a pretty lean dude all around (maybe 12% bf)
Would 1's still work?

I didn't try quads until more recently, and based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend trying quads until you are more comfortable with injecting yourself. The quads are more sensitive and have more blood vessels, so it is more likely to hurt, although it is still safe as long as you make sure to inject in the correct section of the quads. The muscle is also more dense, so the needle won't go in quite as easily. You should be okay with 1.5inch needle as was I, however, if you are really nervous about using a longer needle, maybe just don't put it in all the way until you are more comfortable. If you do use a 1inch needle, make sure you put it in all the way. If you inject, you should leave a little bit of the needle out anyways, so you might as well stick with a 1.5inch needle and leave a little out.

Fuuuuuck. I have no idea what I was so worried about lol.
Just did my first pin, yes my hands were shaking and it was an adrenaline rush, lol. But the pin itself I could barely feel at all, more of a tug at my skin, went in like butter, I did feel when I penatrated muscle, aspirated, no blood. So in she went, I was surprised at the amount of force it took to go in, I went nice and steady, but still surprised I guess I just assumed it woulda went in smoother.
Cant wait to do it again Tuesday!
