Pinning Calves?

Looking for a new site to pin. Have done glutes and quads. Im using a 23g 1 1/2 for glutes and 23g 1" for quads. I get horrible pip in the quads but ill deal with it but glutes i cannot pin properly to save my life. I cant hold the syringe with one hand and aspirate and inject slowly. Just wasnt meant to be. Dont think i want to try delts or pects. Thinking of adding in calves. Any thoughts and what size needle are you guys using?

I have the same issue as you for glute injections so I don't do them. As for quad injections I've gotten used to the pip and don't get it anymore. I use a 23g 1" needle for quads and sometimes a 23g 1.5" needle (but only go 1" inside the muscle). I've never tried calves or pecs but my favorite spot BY FAR to inject are delts. I normally use a 29g .5" needle to inject in the delts but you can also use a 23g 1" needle. Be careful and listen to your body for how deep to go. I would go with the .5" needle for delts, however. You can't go wrong with that!

It sounds like delts are a favorite around here. How difficult is it to use 1 hand to aspirate and inject. Its gotta be easier than glutes but still think i might have an issue without the extra hand to help out.

I dont aspirate when I pin delts with a 29g .5" needle. I've never had a problem with this. The hardest part is actually injecting it with that size. It takes a little muscle.

i would give a big "NO" to calf injections... by far the one of the most painful places to inject... but if ur into the pain thing give it a go

delts would be a much better option

I'm big on quads, but when doing more frequent injects - I rotate in delts. It's far less hassle than glutes and you can "cross your arms" to steady the pin to ensure less pip from wiggling the needle. (I use a 25g1 np)

My .02c :)

Why don't you want to try pinning your delts? I'm not asking you to be a smart ass, just trying to figure out why. Delts are a pretty good spot to pin bro. Think if you've ever had a shot at your doc's office or the hospital - most likely delts. If you're concerned about pain, calves are probably not the place to go.

delts are easy bro if it wasn't for torn rotator cuff i'd still pin there. now i just switch between glutes and quad

25g 1" is what I use in my calves. Pin the lateral head (less vascular on me than my medial head). Your calves should be pretty lean so you can get away with a .5 or 3/4" needle, 25-29g....China Wall is right, it's pretty painful (especially with prop...takes about 3-5 days to recover from 1.5-2cc prop in my calf).

I just started doing delts after avoiding them for a while just because I was worried about it effecting my workouts and man was I missing out. Definitely my favorite spot to pin by far, I would recommend you try pinning them. I also have a bit of trouble pinning my glutes. Another option would be to try ventro glutes, I've been meaning to try pinning here as well because I hear that is another good spot and easy to reach.

i just recently started delts too cuz ventroglutes killed me(go fig). Got some pip for couple days but it wasn't debilitating. Delts are apart of my rotation now for sure. aspirating is easy.

Try chest with a 25ga 1". It's easy to pin and aspirate. If you have a decent amount of muscle it'll be fine.
