please help- low T, flattened pituitary

Hi everyone,

I'm 26 years old male and these are the values from my blood work:

Total T: 330 - 500 ng/dL
Free T: 0.9 ng/dL
Ratio: 0.27%
Prolactin: 14.1 ng/mL
FSH: 7.0mIU/mL
LH: 5.7mIU/mL
Haematocrit: 39.7%

I should also note that I have taken a lot of Raw Maca Root supplements in the past, for around a year and a half. I have recently stopped this. I don't know whether it has had any effect on my T.

I also have an MRI that shows a flattened pituitary gland (MRI was taking for my epilepsy).

I have seen my endo several times and today he suggested I start using Androgel 50mg and see how I feel. I came home and did tons of research and now I'm even more confused as to what to do.

I noticed that there are several ways to administer TRT; I think the Androderm would be the easiest method for me- I don't want to be constantly worried about transferring T to people around me or even my cats. I already am going crazy paranoid being careful with my Minoxidil. Are there any cheap generic versions of Androderm?

My doctor also suggested a more detailed MRI of my pituitary to see if it is really okay or not.

Since I am so young with low T, I am tempted to start treatment.

What do you suggest?:scratchhe Should I also take hGC? Should I start with Androgel, see how it goes and then maybe progress to the Androderm or self-injections or Striant?

Also do any of you use the long term (10 week) injections called Nebido?

I really appreciate any advice you can give me.:newbie:

I don't know anyone on this board using Nebido. Gel will convert greatly to estrogen to to the aromatase enzyme presence in the skin, so it is not recommended. Shots are the way to go. I would give Chip a call at Maximus HRT with the details on all of your tests and get started with him if you are a fit. Androderm most likely will not cut it for long as most of the users I see end up switching to shots due to the gel failing to work after several months due to estrogen conversion. SHBG would be a nice test to see as well. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) alone may work. Prolactin looks high I think, tho it'd be nice if you put the ranges.

Thanks for your advice.

The ranges for Prolactin are 2.5 to 17. I don't think I have a SHBG test.

I didn't know Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) alone could help with low T.

How about Clomifene alone? Seems very practical as it's just a pill.

I take that back. Seeing as your LH/FSH is in range this could be primary and your balls could be the problem.

I would have to agree with you SMALLBLACKGUY..... this guy actually became a client of mine... Has posted IN HIS OWN WORDS that he is a self proclaimed hypochondriac...... Made the personal and completely uneducated decision to tell ME that he chose to NOT follow the protocol (which was simply test, hcg, and Anastrozole) that my doctor put him on after i fought with my doctor to put this 26 year old kid on a NEEDED protocol. Ive washed my hands of him. To busy actually fixing people that to worry about what this kid is going to fill peoples heads with. This isnt a "text book" or PDR game, son. Its about practical experience. Not cutting and pasting.

Wow, you were in the best hands and you left them and are still posting here? You should go bug your doc for some fake cures bro.

NO, UNFORTUNATELY, A COMPLETELY UNEDUCATED YOUNG KID THINKS THAT HE IS NOW A testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) EXPERT. HE TOLD PEOPLE TO START CALLING HIM FOR ADVICE...:scratchhe
AND THE ADMIN REMOVED HIS POST. WE HAVE FAR TO MANY COPY AND PASTE "EXPERTS" WITH ZERO PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE THAT INVADE THIS FORM. I UNDERSTAND "FREEDOM OF SPEECH", BUT HRT/TRT IS A WAY OF LIFE. IT IS SOMETHING YOU CAN ONLY BE AN EXPERT ON AFTER YEARS AND YEARS OF PRACTICAL ADMINISTRATION. NOT HAVING SOME 26 YEAR OLD KID, WHO'S NEVER BEEN ON testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) AND REFUSES TO FOLLOW DOCTORS INSTRUCTIONS PRETEND TO KNOW SHIT FROM SHINOLA. NOUGH SAID. ENTIRE THREAD SHOULD BE REMOVED, IMO.
