question about switching prescriptions.

Ok so I just ordered my first 10 weeks of trt from IMT. I am paying out of pocket for this because insurance doesn't cover online trt clinics obviously. However I still have a urologist apointment that i scheduled a while back. I was hoping I could go to the urologist appointment and tell him that I am paying out of pocket for my trt and ask if he would prescribe me what I need instead so it could be covered under my insurance. Obv i will cancel my other prescription if he agrees. Has anyone tried this? is it even doable? or should i just cancel my apointment and accept that i'll be paying out of pocket for trt forever.

thank you. I guess i'll give it a shot. Don't get me wrong, you guys have been a pleasure to deal with, I just would like to get it covered if I can. I hope they will be willing to give me a proper program like IMT does. If not i'll stick with IMT for sure

has anyone had success with this sort of thing or any idea of what to expect? from what I am reading the price different doesn't change a whole lot with insurance after all is said and done.

I would try a couple of local doctors. It really varies. Initially, a cardiologist prescribed my test. I then told my primary that I was prescribed test and he agreed to refill my prescription. After some homework, I have learned that my cardiologist knows more about test therapy than the local anti aging center. You just have to ask a few docs. It helps if you have lab work.
