Question about TYPES of Overtraining

I was doing some reading and saw something about systematic v. specific overtraining...Does anyone know what this means?? :dunno:

im GUESSING that specific overtraining involves just one bodypart or movement , bench for example . just think of the guys who are at every gym who tend to bench 3-4 days a week and dont ever work back or legs .
systematic im GUESSING is overall overtraining and involves the cns system .

That's kinda what I was thinking, but I didn't want to assume anything...thanks...:wiggle:
 
Specific overtraining is like if you doo 100 sets of bicep curls and you cant move your arms, they are dead. Excessive microtrauma to the point where it causes damage. Your CNS in this case would still be able to handle more workload but your arms are dead.

Systemic overtraining is where your CNS is burned out and you can't do shit.


#2 is more of a problem for most lifters, but I think all of us have suffered through #1 at least once in our lifting careers.
