Question on torn quad

I tore my left quad partially off the kneecap (aprox. 3" across) and up vertically about 1". It was surgically repaired about 4 months ago , it is getting better but not very quickly. Has anyone had anything like this ? How long did it take to repair, Did you get full function back ? The doctor says it will just take time , but this seems like forever.

You cant just say that you tore it without telling us how. Fill us in.

I almost tore my left pec from very heavy lifting so I had to take time off and switch to different movements. I'd imagine that shit would take a long time to heal.

I tore it initially throwing a brick from my patio over the back fence (a long throw- like throwing a hand grenade), the patio was wet and my left foot slipped then grabbed and the torque was just too much I guess. About 2 weeks later sitting on the edge of my office chair , the chair rolled back , dropping me on my ass and hyper extending the knee. That tore it off the kneecap. I feel like a pair of old pants ; put some strain on them , they rip.

Tore mine, no surgery though. Even then, it was probably 6 weeks before it felt right.

dude I work in surgery, and a lot of orthopedic surgery. I cant emphasize this enough; dont push it. I know it seems like a long time, but just take it easy. Yes it should be a 100% eventually, but if you push it to soon your gonna be right back to were you started and having surgery again.

Im post surgery (acl tear) for about 5 months now, Mine started as a knee strain and I just ignored it until it went pop. I agree dont go rushin into anything or your gonna just fuck it up big time. give it rest

Dont' give him proper advice. Let him fuck it up again and maybe he'll learn. :laugh3:
