Questions for RIP ROCKWELL

Hey bro. I have been lurking this part of the forum for a while now, and I had some questions for you about your hormone therapy. I tried to send you a PM, but it won't let me. Do I need a certain number of posts or something?

It's kind of personal so I was going to shoot you a PM, but fawk it, it's anonymous on the internet anyways. Here is what I wrote/want to know.

Hey rip. I decided to PM you first because you said that you are a younger guy on HRT, and I thought that maybe you could give me your perspective on some of my concerns/questions. I'm 26, and have been feeling like shit, fatigued at work and no drive for activity/life/sex, for a few years now, but it appears that it's getting worse.

I am planning on getting a blood test in the next week or two to see if a hormonal imbalance is the cause. I think that it very well may be the cause because I messed around with prohormones when I was 17 (an older dude at the gym sold them to me then :madflip:). Never dabbled in that shit since other than natural test boosters which....did absolutely nothing.

Right now I'm definitely a long way from making a decision, pending on blood work and talking to my wife, but I do have some questions. Are you worried about having a child in your near future? Is it hard knowing that you have to take shots for the rest of your life? Is it worth it? And how would you describe the change that you have felt in your mood and body composition? Would you recommend trying any other measures before Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)? (I know that's premature without my blood work). I would like to have one more child so fertility is an issue for me.

Thanks brother.

Are you worried about having a child in your near future?
No, when you get off testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) the sperm count usually bounces back to where you are. Get this tested for reference. Some members here got their wives pregnant while on TRT.

Is it hard knowing that you have to take shots for the rest of your life?
Not at all, it's harder knowing that your dick doesn't work well enough and you don't have enough energy or confidence to get what you want out of life. The shots take 2 minutes out of my week to administer. To me that is worth more than a life of total misery.

Is it worth it? Hell yes. It's one of those things it's almost so good you can't describe. Imagine feeling the best you ever felt times 2 95% of the time.

And how would you describe the change that you have felt in your mood and body composition? More energy than anyone I know - energy to do anything I want whenever I want pretty much.

Would you recommend trying any other measures before Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)? (I know that's premature without my blood work). I would like to have one more child so fertility is an issue for me.

You could try Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) alone to see if that works, or something with L-DOPA/dopamine in it like macuna pruriens to try and excite the pituitary to release more LH if that is the problem. I would say the above 2 only work in a small number of low testosterone men though. I would not be too worried about the fertility thing. You can always do a restart with clomid and get back to where you are now most likely. Of course, doing all of this is virtually impossible with any MD or endo, as most will not even listen to your concerns and instead put you on 200mg of test once every 2 weeks and call it good. If you want to do it right, you have to go to Chip. It's cheaper and you have basically a free full time consultant. Chip must be crazy offering the kind of service he does to us for as little as he charges. He is way cheaper than an anti aging clinic I went to and even my standard MD's prescriptions with insurance covering them. I can't say enough good things about him and wouldn't trust anyone else with literally the power to tamper with your life. For example, my old doc figured that my high estrogen was not a problem, and refused any assistance there. Be careful if you choose to go with your local doc. He might even say you are normal at 1/3rd good levels.

Thanks a lot man. I appreciate you giving me some input on the matter, it was very helpful. I guess I will see what turns up with my blood work results, and try to figure out where to go from there.

Yeah, I will contact Chip when I get my blood work back, if necessary. I have read enough horror stories of endos and GPs running people through hormone rollercoaster rides to try that route. Plus, I have been reading through this forum, and Chip seems like an honest and professional guy. Can you PM me the general range of prices for this type of therapy or does that differ with each person?

You need to test SHBG and E2 as well. Chip's bloodwork is cheaper and covers more than most docs, if you need a source for bloodwork. I'm a young guy like you, and I debated this for a long time before getting totally fed up with feeling and looking like crap. Without Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) my balls are still hanging low.

It's good to know that I'm not the only mid-late twenties guy dealin with this sh!t. It would be ideal if I could do this without relying on test injects forever, but I have exhausted OTC supplements, tribulus BS and you made a good point about 2 minutes out of the week not being a big deal, lol I didn't reall think of how miniscule amount of time that is out of my week.

Hey bro...I am 22 and on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). I have a wife, 2 kids (toddlers at that), a career and even getting a foster kid today. TRT/HRT is the best choice I could have made.

Myself and my wife could no longer deal with the issues that low test was causing (no sex, irritability, exhaustion, brain fog, etc). It was making it hard to get through each day with work and the family and especially spending time with my precious children. I had a total test of around 230 - should have been more like 900-1100 at 21 when it was tested.

I have been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for a year now and I just switched to Chip last week. He has been there to talk to over the last year and even gave me advice a few times. I finally decided "EFF IT" may aswell switch. I was dealing with doctors who I knew more about hormones and the way they interact than they did. I had to explain to 3 doctors why testing e2, for example - since most docs refuse, is important for a a male, what LH does and why it needs to be checked, why bloodwork needs to be ran periodically.

Hell, the doctor I switched from had me on test cyp and got upset when I asked for current bloodwork and then REFUSED any and all refills leaving me with no test left. WTF?

GO TO CHIP! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! He can even run bloodwork for you. He is a stand up guy and the prices are worth it. Your health is always worth it - especially for us young guys man. We were not meant to feel like this.

The best thing about Chip - he has been there and cares.

ALL HAIL MAXIMUS!

Hey man, looks like CJW and qcomer nailed it on the head. testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) was a little bit of a worry for me before I started because I thought about all the same questions. I'm 27 years old. However, once I pondered it for awhile, I started adding up all the negatives I was experiencing. I felt like shit. Felt fatigued, couldn't get out of bed, wouldn't even remotely think about sex and we all know this can destroy a relationship/marriage. I went to a couple of docs and it was always the same old shit with them. They wanted me to take depression pills cause I felt like shit. Then they wanted me to do the Gel. Fuck gel. No knowledge about the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) process. No mention of an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) in case or HCG.

I manned the fuck up and called Chip with Maximus and cried to him like a little girl scout for about an hour of all my symptoms. Not once did he rush me off the phone. He listened and really related to what I was experiencing. If you read Chip's story, he definitely can relate, trust me. A couple weeks later, I started his protocol and couldn't have felt better. My sex drive is through the roof along with several other things. Again, I always thank my lucky stars for Ology and meeting guys like Chip who actually know what they are doing. It has been a lifesaver. Now as far as kids are concerned, guys get their ladies pregnant all the time on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). To me, it was a matter of feeling like I once used to. When you feel like shit for so long, you actually forget what it feels like to feel "good" again.

Besides that, no offense to people with kids, but I don't want any kids at all but if it happens one day, it happens. Just be patient and get the blood work done and see where you stand. As far as me injecting, it is no big deal. A rather small price to pay to feel like a million bucks. Best advice to you is to reach out to Chip, get the blood work done and then see what your options are. Either way, shit will get better. I am sure Chip will be chiming in soon. Good luck.
