Retaining gains post cycle?

Hey guys! I've been reading this forum on and off for the past year every time I've gotten the temptation to turn over to the dark side.

I don't really recall ever seeing if the gains one gets on their cycle stay or if they degenerate as soon as the cycle is over. Is it necesary to continue cycles continously to keep the gains or can you maintain your newfound stature with the excess calories needed to get there?

Also does running a test cycle fuck up your bodys natural production regardless of whether you know what your doing or not?

So if you are considering thisa few things to consider is first age. How old? I wanted till 27. Not because I didn't want to earlier I just wanted to reach my natural potential. Also I stayed on this site for over a year researching and figuring everything out. I even went to 3j about my diet. Well worth the investment. Taking steroids shuts you down no matter who you are. Getting your body to start producing test again is what makes all the different between someone who knows what they are doing vs someone who doesn't. You want to make sure you have a good post cycle therapy (pct). take Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) though cycle. Keep an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) on hands incase your estrogen sensitive. Diet diet diet and lift hard. Read up on every drug in the steroid profiles and then ready every sticky twice. Then you will have atleast a good start to what you are doing and it makes it much safer. Don't cut corners though. It will screw you up later down the road.

During PCT you usually lose water weight mostly. If you keep eating and training like on cycle then you will keep alot of what you gained....given you have a good PCT like supersafado said. Personally, during PCT I keep gaining. Strength decreases a bit but with the water weight that drops, I get a more vascular look, but thats just me

Another reason to run an A.I., as it helps to keep the water gains lower, and gives a better picture of where you're at. Once at PCT you're not losing the water gains as well as general gains. As everyone else said diet and proper PCT will help you keep a large portion of your gains.

Had a buddy who ran a cycle of TestP and never ran any post cycle therapy (pct). He wondered why he lost most of his gain...

PCT is crucial.

doing any type of test will always mess with your bodys natural production of your own testosterone and that is why pct is necessary to keep most of your gains.. most cycles i have done in the past i kept most gains.. but the most recent cycle i kinda went overboard and took sus and dbol for to long of a time and after a while of running a certain cycle it messes with your receptors therefor even being on a test you fry your receptors thats why it should be done for the right amount of time not to long...have plenty of time off after you pct before running your next cycle..but to answer your question you will always loose but theres so much gain if diet and everything else is in check and pct is in check then there will be little lose.. but i never went by time on time off i always say the longer you can stay off a cycle the better and the next cycle will more gainful... the shorter you run a cycle and get good gains quicker the better instead of running a cycle over the amount of time you should like i did gained a lot and then lost a lot but still had gains in the end.. but it was a bad crash a extra pct was a must but every ones body is different so make sure you read up and do your research before jumping into anything and make sure u have everything u need to combat anything that should get in you way while cycling my first cycle was at 24 im 26 and been in the gym since i was 16 so also make sure you have trained for a long time

There are many factors that go into determining how much size you will keep. To start with, the longer you are able to keep yourself at your elevated weight on cycle, the better chance you have of adapting to these new conditions. When you come off, you must continue to eat the macro's associated with your new body mass.

However, if you are above your natural potential which you most likely are not, you will lose your gains and go back to the maximum amount of muscle your frame can hold. The speed at which this is done depends upon your nutrition.

This is also why it is more beneficial for the pro's to blast and cruise. They are so far above their natural potential that it would be counterproductive to ever come off.

I'm 2nd week in pct now, Im really concentrating on my diet and I have only lost a few pounds. Strength has gone down which makes it hard mentally. I'm keeping my intensity up which is making it a little easier. Diet is key, I'm trying to keep my calories as high as I can and not worrying to much of the extra fat during post cycle therapy (pct). So far this has been the best pct I've been going threw, diet and intensity is the key so far for me. I ran a test 400 cycle 800mg pw, gear was underdosed (won't be running that lab again) but it was enough to shut me down.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys, havn't been able to check it til now. Just trying to continue learning whenever I have some free time available haha.
