Same address

hey all
you may or may not be aware of the letter I received from the USPS a bit ago, requesting my signature for a Customs letter. I just ignored it, a final notice was sent, I ignored that. My question is this: I am assuming that my address is now flagged by customs, however would it be a problem if I sent future international packages to a different address, but with the same last name. For example a cousins home who lives in the same town, however has a different address. Would customs run a check on JUST the address, or the entire name? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks :)

If the address and the first name are different, I can't imagine why they would flag that address as well. Think about it, there are probably quite a few people with the same last name in your greater area. They couldn't possibly presume that everyone who happens to have the same last name as you now needs to be watched. For all they know, it's somebody totally unrelated to you.

No, I really don't think you will have a problem doing this. I don't think they red flag addresses either.

I've gotten stuff after receiving 3 customs seizure letters to the same addy.

Yes, there was something odd about how the seizure letter was sent however. It was through certified mail that I would have had to sign for. The same exact thing happened to Wartime (who coincidentally had a pack seized from the same source). That is why I was particulary concerned that Customs may have my address flagged

I'd change it they could be watching the source and if that's the case it won't matter what addy you put it'll get seized. Like mvmaxx I've recieved a letter form customs and still recieved a pack at same addy from same guy.

The name and addy are both entered into a database. They don't so call red flag you but, each package that they check is also cross checked to see if your in there database..if you are this happens 2 or 3 times you can get lucky and just get another letter or you will get a knock on your door. Just don't use the addy anymore and you should be fine.

If I'm not mistaken they have a record of your overseas pack weather you get a letter or not, it's all computerized. When you send with conformation it goes in the computer also. If your pack has 25 or so amps I don't think you'll have a problem, but if they seize a couple of 200 or more amp packs, they might be knocking on your door. Like I said in the beginning "If I'm not mistaken" Who with those guys they change like the wind.

I had the same thing happen to me, so I will be using another addy for a while, just to be safe!;)

true, there is a record of all packs going back and forth but, unless its flagged and checked your not going to get a letter. The only time you would get a letter is if it was checked and confirmed that there was gear in it...otherwise the packs just go through without them ever knowing whats in it. Once you receive that letter the name and addy is entered into a seperate database.

I have never heard of customs "flagging" delivery addresses. You should be fine.

they don't flag the addy. If your unlucky enough to get your pack checked a 2nd time they will check to see if there were any packs sent to that addy before. thats why once you get a letter to one addy you should not use that addy again.
