Ok someone correct me if I'm wrong cause I'm tired of arguing with the guys at the gym..

I've always been advised that to get bigger and stronger to do more weight and less reps and to get more cut more reps and less weight ? Correct ?

Now the argument I have with the guys at the gym is they say they can get bigger and stronger doing less weight more reps than doing more weight less reps I call ther bs starting the argument...

In my personal opinion I feel stronger and more swolle when I do 6-8 reps with heavy weight than I do when I try for 12-14 reps of lighter weight .

So someone correct me if I'm wrong I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong but I'm standing my ground on this one unles they prove me otherwise !!

Opinions please !

size has to do mainly with calorie intake. getting cut is from diet and aerobic type exercises, sometimes lifting when keeping your heart rate up or dong barbell complexes. anything really, but mainly diet. it's just losing fat. lifting weight no matter if it is heavy for low reps or light for more volume, you ain't gonna get cut up for shit if you eat like shit. yes you are correct that to get stronger you must liftheavier weights for lower reps. because there's no way to lift heavy weights for high reps, or else it ain't heavy enough. i believe this is also best for putting on mass, as long as your caloric intake is high enough. heavy compound and complex barbell exercises. however you can still get big using say 60-70% of your 1rm for a higher amunt of sets and reps. as long as you eat enough. won't do shit for your 1rm in any of the big lifts though.

Exactly what I'm tryin to tell them.. I tell them if we had exactly the same diet and did everything the same for a month with my 6-8 reps with heavy weight and he did his lighter weight for 12-15 reps keeping to 3 sets the 1rm for the guy doing the heavy weight less reps is going to be more likely to have a higher weight on the 1rm than the higher rep person.. Now I'm not sayin they wouldent be strong but I think for the max the heavy weight person wins this one..

It's like talking to two walls though neither on is going to budge.. Everyone has there own way I like mine he likes his guess that's the way it's gonna stay lol

well said bro.. you can gain both on low or high rep... doesn't matter so long as your diet is on par
