Shin Pain

I have a little problem which started happening in the past week. I was always a runner, and had no problems with any type of pain, maybe some knee pain, but that's because I hurt it badly when I was a child.

However recently my shins are statring to hurt really bad. Its happening when I run (steady pace and sprint) and when I walk especially incline. This never happened before.
I take Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin D, Multivitamin and all the other works. I also take time to strech.

I am 3 weeks into my Anavar (var) cycle and I was wondering if anyone has or had the same problem.

Thanks a lot for your advice

:wavey:

I had the same thing but only at an upward of 30mg+. Anavar (var) is notorious for joint pain. But I think it might be more from the water retention and pump. I experienced it a little but when I added in some ancillaries like taurine it seemed to help.

lol, I can't believe you mentioned this because I just noticed this also the past week or so and I have been running forever with no issues. I am also on Anavar (var), 10 mg Ed for 9 weeks now....never had a problem until I just figured out.....I switched Anavar (var) tabs I had for some new capsules I got for the remaining weeks left on this cycle....has to have something to do with it!

The crazy part is, when you said the incline on the treadmill...that's when I first had it...had to stop...but it has mellowed because I have been running outside this past week everyday and barely noticed it.

Weird shit!

I haven been streching more, especially my calves, since they feel really tight. And I am trying to do other types of cardio instead and see how that works out. Today I will go back on the threadmill and see how it goes.
I also heard it can be due to change in your diet, and I have been really strict with the way I eat, since I want to get the most out of my cycle. Also, I just started taking Potassium on its own since its an electoryite and muscles need it to contract. Steroids cause the levels of Potassium in your body to drop. I have been feeling better, but today I am defonetly testing it out at the gym.

Thanks a lot Jenner for your commnet and if you are not taking an electrolyte such as potassium, maybe you can check into it,it should help. Supplements are really important especially if you are training hard, and I am sure we are.

:)

Also, what kind of shoes do you run in? And try keeping the treadmill at least at a 2% incline.

Thanks Blondie Bombshell!!!

I am trying out if low Potassium might be the case, but I will definetly look into your advice. I am only on 20mg/day dont wanna do more, since its working great (some back acne as side effect, but I deal with it).

I walk at at an incline of 12-15% (when I do cardio on an empty stomach) but I also run at about 2% incline (well I start off at 0 to warm up and work up on intensity).

The shoes I wear are saucony (with arch support). I am really picky about my shoes and buy only good shoes since I have been running and trainng for a while. So i definetly know that's not the problem. Even though you're right when you asked me the question about the shoes, I see so many people in the gym with bad shoes, and even doing squats with "shape ups". I will never understand that!

You took Anavar (var) in excess of 30mg? Do you have a slow metabolism which means you can have higher doses of gear, caffeine etc??

What did you look like with those amounts? Was it for comp prep? I still haven't seen your comp pics, dying to see how you looked.
:)

20mg, what are your gains? Did you start at 10mg? If so what got better? Sorry for all of the questions...lol

Btw, how bad is the acne?

oh no problem its always good to ask questions.
well i did start off with 10mg (2 weeks) then went on 20mg (2 weeks today). I will not increase more I will stay at 20 mg for another 4-6 weeks then taper off slowly.

To tell you the truth I did not really notice the difference the first 3 weeks, well I was tighter and had a little more energy but did not see it on me. Now at 4 weeks I cannot believe the way I look. I always had a great upper body, back and shoulders, but now I have even more muscle definition. I can lift more, and I love it!!!

As for my lower body, thats where I always carried my weight, and had the most muscle. Since I already have very strong legs, I am doing a higher count with weights (20-25 reps) + plyo to help burn even more calories, and reduce my fat%. my legs also look amazing, they are way tighter!
Basically I love the results. I am also following a very strict diet, and weighing everything. To help my fat loss, I am doing 3 days low carb (lower than my optimal by about 20% in order to bur more fat, but making sure I am eating enough protein) and then one day carb up (I tried 15% above my optimal carb intake but I was hungry so I upped it now to about 25% above optimal). I wanted to make sure I dont slow down my metabolism and by carbing up to promote the laying of new muscle tissue.

I was always trained very hard I just had to really clean up and play with my diet a lot to find what works best for me. I know that I am carb sensitive and I have to work with that.

As for the acne, well I never had any on my back or my body in general. however now I have about 4-5 spots which I can see. They are red and bumpy, so its under the skin. I have some acne treatment I put on my back. I mean its not that bad, but for me it kinda is since I didnt have it before. I also have some smaller ones on my shoulders, but they dry out. I am a little moody, and when I get into a weird mood, it takes me a bit to get out of it. Basically I can be in a great mood, but something may happen and my mood changes, and my sex drive goes down. I will definitely tell you if anything else comes up.

well hope that helped.

The best book ever written, it should be read by every person who does weightlifting, professionally or just for fun is "everything you need to know about fat loss" by Chris Aceto.
It is not just another book like the atkins, south beach diet, etc. it explains how your body works, how to change and tweak your diet, and many other things. He also has other books, "Championship Bodybuilding" and "Bodybuilding Nutrition and Training". All amazing books!
No one who reads the book will be disappointed.

just a quick note

Sinanovi,

I also carry my weight in my lower body = /
My upper body reacts very well to my training, lower body is harder for me.

I'm on my 2nd wek of Primo (150 mg a week) and I'm kindda having the same effects u did with anavar.
I feel tighter for sure & my muscles are looking harder, but nothing really noticeable yet.

I hope I don't get acne with Primo, I've read it's possible, but not likely.

Keep us informed how it turns out for u, I'm interested to know :)

a differential diagnosis for shin pain includes (but is not limited to) an anterior leg compensation from damaged achilles tendon, causing overuse of "shin muscles" which results in shin splints.

Of course that helped! Thank you! I will check out the books for sure.

I had the acne a bit also on my chin and upper back but its ok now...I don't like that shit either though!

I was the same way mood wise when I first started it but that went away also. I also have to watch my good carbs...I can put weight on really quick with them. :(

And ladies, I have the same issue with the lower half, I think the only thing that saves me is I have long limbs and torso so I can just up my cardio and I lean right out.

Nice hearing from other ladies!:)

very lucky for having long limbs and torso! :))

I probably could've been a very good tennis player, strong legs very defined upper body. Thats what you get from being of slavic background.

I checked into that, and I am taking it easy and streching my calf muscles, legs, hips, glutes.
The thing is that I have new shoes, plus i did not really do anything out of the ordianry to cause this. I am being patient and making sure it doesnt get worse. The funny thing is same thing happened to my boyfriend on his cycle.
Thanks for your help, I will watch out for sure!
