I know I need shoes with flat soles for deadlifting and squatting like chucks but I have seen some vids of people wearig what looks like slippers and am curious about something. I have tried deadlifting and squatting and I can lift more if I wear my running shoes as opposed to when I go barefoot the weight just feels freaking heavy as shit(It may be a mental thing and something I just might need to get used to)- does this happen to anyone else?
Do those slipper things provide the same support as a pair of chucks or wrestling or shoes?
I basically just need a pair of shoes with a flat sole with no air in them - correct?

WHat you need mostly is a stable base to stand on. Just remember with deads the smaller the sole the less distance you have to pulll. I love to deadlift barfoot.

Inzer makes some nice shoes.

I didnt even think of that bro- :Pat:
thanks for the response

I have never even attempted to deadlift, squat or do any lifts barefoot. I have problems with my arches to begin with, but the thought itself hurts my feet. I can't see the benefit.

2 benifots for me. IT gives me a much more stable base as compared to my sneakers per say. And it drops at least and inch or more out of my pull. I can pul about 25pounds more barefot than in shoes.

lots of people squat in heels instead of flat shoes , depends on which fits your squatting style/technique . running shoes will not do well as squat shoes , the rubber is too soft and will smash down and get out of shape/unstable when the weight gets heavy .

Correct me if i'm wrong, But i wouldn't mind lifting in wrestling shoes
