Hey guys, In week 5 of a test e/tbol cycle. Over the past few months I've had spurts of shoulder pain in my left shoulder, especially after chest days. Today, my shoulder is in excruciating pain but only when i lift it in the frontal plane (like a bodyweight front raise). When I lift it laterally, there is no pain and when it is resting at my side their is no pain. It is also tender to the touch and I can pinpoint where the pain is coming from. I'm pretty sure it is my rotator cuff however im not sure of it's severity.

So, my question for you guys is how should i proceed with training for my cycle? Have any of you guys had any similar experiences and how did you resolve your issue? Thanks

I'm one of the stupid ones who trains through injuries until they become debilitating (don't advise you to do that though). Knowing what triggers the pain, makes it worse, and where it's centralized in is all important but you're still guessing as to certain things. I'd recommend going to a sports doctor, chiro, etc and getting a proper diagnosis as to what it Really is. describe all the symptoms and info you laid here and let the doctor pinpoint the exact cause. When you have that info a training regimen change could be made. Without knowing what a doctor says all we'd really be doin is guessing and the recommendations made could actually aggravate the issue further.

No problem bro. I've been following your log and you've made some great progress. I'd hate to see you go backwards by making the problem worse. You should have a feel for your body and the pains you can work through and the pains you can't/shouldn't. Look at it this way, if you try to work it out and you make it a lot worse you could possibly be out of the gym for months. If you treat it smartly now and get a diagnosis, you could keep training the rest of your body the same, alter your shoulder workouts or just stop them for the time being. The first way you'll lose everything but e second way you're still making some progress and could be back lifting shoulders in a much shorter time. I do hope it's nothing serious and just a sprain or something :)

So i saw a ortho today and this is basically what he said. My issue is due to inflammation in the muscles and ligaments that connect to the coronoid process in the shoulder. Its actually part of the scapular that comes into the front of the shoulder. He gave me some topical strips that get absorbed into skin and reduce imflamation and he wants me to ice it wvery 30 minutes. Also he said to ice 30 mins on 1 hour off constantly. As far as training, he said no incline or regular bench press and no military press. So, this is pretty good news. I was expecting him to say i had an issue in the AC joint or rotator cuff. Any advice on some good chest/shoulder exercises i could use to replace flat bench, incline and military press?
