Shoulder joint pain

Greybeard

On the backside of 40...
Did a search on this and came up with many opinions.

My problem is that I have shoulder joint pain (dull ache) frequently. It actually felt better ON Winstrol (winny).

As far as supplements go, glucosamine / chondroiten seem to be mentioned alot. But are they really that good?

Deca is another key player mentioned on many post I ran across while searching. But how long does it take to be effective?

My pain begins when doing any pressing movements, but only for the first 4 sets or so.

I always start with 2 light/medium warm-up sets regardless of what exercise I'm doing and then jump into the meat & potatoes.

Usually the pain doesn't subside until after the 2nd or 3rd heavier set. Then I'm ok for the rest of that exercise.

Also during warm-up, I make sure and get a good stretch on the bottom. Which is when it hurts the most. But once again, only during the initial movements.

Really weird, like knocking the rust off or something?

Keep in mind that I am heading near 50 and have been lifting for most of my life.

Have decided to see a Doc about Ultrasound / MRI on my shoulders just to see what is going on in there.

But at my age I just can't see getting surgery unless there is something drastically wrong. Like my shoulders are fixing to literally fall out of socket.

Just suck it up and drive on as usual...

Thoughts from those that have experienced similiar problems?

i had surgery on my right because i had the same thing with the presses. but i am a little younger 35. i had the rotater fixed and its as good as new.

Thanks for the input cyto33!

If I were your age I might lean towards surgery too. How long were you out afterwards and how extensive was the surgery?

i was laid up with my arm wrapped to my body for a month. then i started to do physio for the next month. it was about 4 months total before i got back in to working out.
the surgery was minor. they went in the front side and back delt opened me up 1/2" in each place. seperated the shoulder and ground the socket down and put a few stiches in the cuff.
i dont even feel it for the most part anymore. the only time i really feel it is when i'm hitting the heavy bag or boxing.

Damn! 4 months.... I can't be down that long, guess I will have to try some supplements and see what the Doc says about them.

Thanks again cyto33!

When a shoulder sinew is made dysfunctional by initiate points, other sinews have to compensate. Under the additional problem, each sinew comes by initiate points in turn, until every sinew in the district is in trouble. This can lead to progressively restricted action of the arm, finish finally in a iced shoulder.
