Showing ID when renting postbox

I went to get hire a postbox from MBE (Mail Boxes etc) today. And they told me I had to show a valid ID to do so. I don't want to do this...for personal reasons

How do you guys ga ahead to get a postbox without having to show some ID.

I'm pretty sure you have to show ID no matter where you rent a box from

Doesn't that bother you....I mean how hard can it be for someone to check you up. Home adress, phone number etc.
That's the whole concept with renting postboxes, being anonymous.

I think the only way you're going to remain anonymous is if you get some fake ID.

I was thinking about getting a po box at mail boxes etc...one would think it would be safer then the main po for a po box. yes????????

Bro you have to show your real ID, if it is a US postal box then you have to show two forms of id. Just use a fake name when recieving mail.

It doesnt really bother me as it still far more anonymous than giving out your home addy. Bottom line is if the authorities tag a package of yours, doesnt matter where its going, you're screwed. Thats why I only use domestic now

Nope ,those ppl at MB like to snoop. especially if your in a small town. The PO gets so much mail that they just shove all the mail in the boxes and go about the day.

Ok...so I guess there's not much to do then do use my real ID....or to give a little extra cash to the man at MBE to pursuade him not to ask for ID..hehe

I'm lucky my pmb asked for no id at all and I made a buisness name up.
